This is a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact on security governance across TELUS Health. You'll work at the intersection of compliance, risk management, and operational security, supporting our government contract obligations while helping to standardize security controls across the organization. Your work directly enables TELUS Health to maintain trust with government partners and protect the integrity of sensitive operations.

What you will do

  • Lead and manage Government of Canada security clearance processes (Reliability level and above) for all TELUS Health personnel working on government contracts
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for business units regarding security clearance requirements, timelines and status updates
  • Guide team members through special clearance and screening processes, ensuring compliance with government and contractual requirements
  • Facilitate vendor sponsorships and coordinate Document Safeguarding Capability (DSC) packages
  • Support external audits and government inspections, including potential on-site visits to data centers
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to clearance processes and security compliance
  • Identify process improvements and opportunities to streamline clearance workflows
  • Partner with TELUS Health business units to understand clearance needs and resolve blockers
  • Communicate with Government of Canada representatives regarding clearance status and requirements
  • Coordinate with HR, Legal and Compliance teams on security-related matters
  • Support wider CSO initiatives related to physical security governance and risk management
  • Support the design and implementation of physical security policies and procedures across TELUS Health
  • Build institutional knowledge and documentation to scale the physical security program

What you bring

  • Government Security Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain the Government of Canada Reliability Level security clearance or higher
  • Security Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of Government of Canada security frameworks, clearance processes, and compliance requirements
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage complex documentation, track clearance timelines, and ensure accuracy in all security-related records
  • Problem-Solving and Risk Management: Ability to identify risks, troubleshoot clearance delays, and develop practical solutions
Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex security requirements to non-security stakeholders and provide clear, timely updates
  • Flexibility and Prioritization: Ability to quickly pivot focus based on business urgency, manage competing demands and support immediate organizational needs
  • Process Development: Ability to build, document and maintain security processes and procedures

Nice-to-Haves

  • Currently hold or have held a Government of Canada security clearance at Reliability Level or higher
  • Security or audit certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor)
  • Strong understanding of security policies, standards, and control frameworks; ability to interpret and assess controls
