As a Category Lead for Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), you will be accountable for the analysis of the procurement portfolio and development of sourcing strategies for TELUS’ M&As. The Category Lead is the face of Procurement for all M&A activities, playing a pivotal role in coordinating efforts between internal stakeholders: the corporate development team, the business unit team and the wider procurement team, to drive actions in meeting the company’s objectives such as cost savings and risk mitigation. You will also be responsible for leading activities such as vendor consolidation analysis in addition to drafting, negotiating and managing commercial contracts.

 

The M&A category presents exciting challenges and opportunities, allowing you to make an impact in bridging the gaps between the internal teams and championing the value of procurement, continuously improving the engagement approach to better support our stakeholders.

 

Here is how:
 

  • Providing procurement support during Due Diligence and Post Acquisition Integration processes
  • Liaising between TELUS’ internal stakeholders and the extended procurement team in evaluating opportunities to leverage TELUS’ vendors relationships
  • Influencing key strategic decisions through impactful thought leadership and consultative approach
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the organization as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor
  • Leveraging expert skills in data analytics, market research, sourcing, relationship and contract management
  • Leading contract negotiations, strategic sourcing activities, cross-functional projects, risk and relationship management, and savings initiatives
  • Optimizing our transformational delivery model to maximize impact for TELUS

  • Strong stakeholder management, ability to build and maintain partnerships and communicate effectively across different levels of management
  • Strong business mindset and financial acumen
  • A 'can-do' attitude and innate belief in the art of the possible
  • Ability to deep dive into the details whilst always going back to the bigger picture to act strategically
  • Ability to maintain perspective and confidence in face of tight deadlines and stakeholders expectations
  • Spirited team player with the ability to work as a positive role model and catalyst for change
  • Passion for using facts and data, translating analytics and intelligence into effective business decisions in the best interests of the organization
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • 5 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing roles 

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • MBA or Project Management experience 
  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry or Mergers and acquisitions
  • Knowledge of financial principles 
  • Google Suite
