Description
Join our team and what we’ll accomplish together
TELUS Health is dedicated to empowering every person to live their healthiest life. Guided by our vision, we leverage leading-edge technology and focus on individual uniqueness to shape the future of health. Our team members across the country are united in their commitment to continuous innovation, making healthcare more accessible and delivering improved health experiences for everyone.
As an intermediate Cloud Migration Program Manager, you'll join a team actively transforming from traditional project management to technical program leadership— contributing to TELUS Health's cloud migration center of excellence. This role is deeply embedded with engineering and architecture teams and requires technical fluency in cloud platforms, system design, and delivery execution. This isn't about status dashboards and governance documents; it's about having the technical know-how to bridge product development teams and cloud engineering teams as we migrate mission-critical healthcare applications across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
This role is designed for someone with intermediate experience who's ready to take on more complex, multi-cloud programs with the support of senior cloud architects leaders and platform leads. You'll deepen your cloud migration expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP while working on healthcare-critical systems. We're looking for someone who has hands-on cloud migration experience and wants to grow their technical program management skills in a collaborative, learning-focused environment. You'll help shape the playbook for how TELUS Health approaches cloud migrations at scale, learning from ongoing programs while bringing your own experience to the team. We're looking for people who are comfortable talking tech—you should understand cloud architecture well enough to navigate the complexities of moving healthcare platforms from on-premise to cloud, and you'll deepen that expertise through hands-on work with our cloud engineering enablement teams, platform engineering, and infrastructure teams.
What You’ll Do
- Manage end-to-end delivery of cloud migration programs ranging from 3-6 month application migrations to 18-24 month transformations across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
- Bridge product development teams, cloud engineering enablement teams, and infrastructure teams (platform engineering, operations) to navigate the technical pathway from on-premise to cloud end state
- Identify and resolve technical migration complexities—from data residency requirements for healthcare data to understanding why every 'lift-and-shift' involves architectural tweaks—keeping programs moving forward
- Work across multiple cloud platforms to build versatile cloud migration expertise
- Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable plans and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Develop and manage integrated schedules, milestones, and contribute to program budget planning with guidance from program leadership
- Drive continuous improvement in program execution, leveraging emerging tools and industry best practices
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment that promotes learning and innovation
- Collaborate with and support team members across all levels, sharing knowledge and learning from others
- Grow your technical program management skills through exposure to complex, multi-cloud healthcare migrations while working alongside experienced cloud architects and engineering leaders
Qualifications
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in technology program/project management or technical roles (cloud engineering, solutions architecture, DevOps) with at least 2-3 years managing cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with cloud migration projects (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You don't need to be an expert in all three clouds, but you should have hands-on experience with at least one and curiosity to learn the others.
- Technical understanding of cloud architecture and migration patterns to engage effectively with engineering teams, identify migration complexities, and understand why 'lift-and-shift' always involves trade-offs
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and facilitate collaboration across product, engineering, and infrastructure teams
- Experience managing program schedules, budgets, and integrated dependencies in fast-paced or ambiguous environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
Great-to-haves
While not required, any of the following would set you up for even faster success
- Previous experience as a Cloud Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, or Cloud Administrator transitioning into program management
- Cloud platform certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Professional, or equivalent)
- Experience with Amazon Web Connect or contact center cloud migrations
- Familiarity with healthcare data privacy considerations (PIPEDA, HIPAA) and general awareness of data residency requirements
- Agile/SAFe certifications or PMP/PgMP
Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its international scope.
