The TELUS Public Relations team is searching for a dynamic and innovative communications specialist to help support and drive best-in-class integrated Public Affairs campaigns across owned, earned, and paid media.

 
If you are a detailed operations specialist who thrives in a multifaceted, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, relishes working within a rapidly evolving digital and media landscape, and loves supporting high functioning teams to do their best everyday, this is the role for you.


This is a specialist level role reporting to a manager.

This is not your typical communications role. As the key content supporter of sponsored, paid placement, and owned media amplification, you will keep TELUS on the cutting edge of communications trends through diverse channels. 

As a member of the TELUS Public Relations team you will provide logistical and operational support for external PR communications initiatives, sponsored content, paid and social amplification. You will build alignment with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to

facilitate best-in-class campaigns.


Here’s how
 

  • Collaborate across teams to help drive best-in-class communications campaigns across digital and print publications
  • Strategize with the PR Team and external agencies on paid and amplified earned, owned and sponsored content initiatives, leveraging content recommendation tools
  • Implement remarketing campaigns of sponsored content with the TELUS digital performance team
  • Manage external vendor and agency relationships for all paid content initiatives executed at TELUS 
  • Play an integral supporting role in Connecting Canada for Good website, managing ad creation process, trackable links, adobe omniture, and analysis 
  • Seamlessly edit and strategically place sponsored brand journalism across paid media
  • Create high quality, compelling presentations, wrap reports, and decks for an executive audience 
  • Support the day to day logistics of the PR team and understand how to prioritize concurrent projects and initiatives

     

Qualifications

  • You have a strong grasp of the evolving paid and earned media landscape and understand how to weave tactics together into fully integrated campaigns
  • You are recognized as a collaborative team player; a strong analytical thinker and creative problem solver
  • You are known for clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication
  • You are skilled in the successful delivery of projects with high risk, complexity and business impact
  • You are respected for your excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • You are a master deck builder
  • You work effectively to deliver measurable results in demanding environments with diplomacy and adaptability while handling multiple tasks, prioritizing activities, and meeting deadlines
  • You have experience with communications project management
  • You have an undergraduate degree or equivalent post-secondary education in communications, public relations, marketing, digital marketing, or journalism


Great-to-haves
 

  • PMP, CMC or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 3 years project management experience
  • Strong competency in google and G-suite applications
  • You have previously worked at an agency and/or have experience operating in a large corporate environment
