As a Data Engineering Consultant in the Data Quality Management Program, you’ll contribute to the Design, development and support of data pipelines and related data products and platforms by enabling learning algorithms for Data Quality processes. As a trusted technical expert, collaborate with various business units and demonstrate thought leadership when sitting at the intersection between privacy, ethics, technology, data and consumers to ensure it is leveraged in a respectful manner while continuing to advance our reputation of being trustworthy through transparent communication.


Here’s How


  • Work with business stakeholders on the adoption and onboarding of TELUS Data Quality Tool powered by Collibra (training and technical support) 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to build data quality rules, data profiling and data monitoring solutions 
  • Performs Data quality impact assessment requirements reviews and develops work estimates 
  • Enable business stakeholders to create Data Quality Dashboard and Reports and enable automation of Data quality alerts and notifications 
  • Define, enable, test and automate scripts for data quality algorithm processes against source system that collect metrics and outcomes
  • Develop test strategies and site reliability engineering measures for data products and solutions 
  • Participate in agile development scrums and solutions reviews 
  • Lead resolution of critical operations issues including post implementation reviews 
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and evolution of TELUS’ Data Governance & Data Quality Management application.


What you bring


  •  You are sought out for your strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Lineage and Data Management.
  • You are respected for your knowledge of Solution Development and Data Management Lifecycles.
  • You are hands on in Windows Operating Systems, Unix, Linux and with GCP Kubernetes (GKE). 
  •  You are commended for your expertise with Collibra Owl DQ Server Installation & Administration on GCP - including managing database integration, tenant administration, user groups creation etc.
  • You are recognized for your understanding of and experience with similar Data Quality tools ( Informatica, SAS DMP, Alation and or Collibra DQ 
  • You are recognized for your understanding of and experience with Oracle, SQL server, Hadoop GCP BigQuery,Postgres,and NoSQL. 
  • You are an expert communicator and strategic thinker, able to provide a consultative approach in alignment with the Telco Management Industry Framework.
  • You are an effective influencer and negotiator, able to be persuasive while upholding commitments to our customers, stakeholders and TELUS’ commitment to integrity.      
  •  Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in English.     
  • 4+ years Data Engineering experience / 2 year data solution architecture and design 
  • You are able to develop and implement appropriate data quality solutions with well documentation
  • You can engage with stakeholders to ensure their buy-in of changes that are being proposed and they understand how to use and monitor new tools, reports and processes.



  • You are commended for your expertise with Collibra Owl DQ Server Installation & Administration on GCP - including managing database integration, tenant administration, user groups creation etc.       
  • University degree in computer science and/or 5 years of working experience in Information Management.
  • Experienced in supporting DQM on at least three programs or projects 
  • Demonstrable DAMA international BOK Framework knowledge and/or application.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading and writing in French.
