Description
Join us in powering Canada's network infrastructure through world-class demand planning!
Our team and what we'll accomplish together
Ready to build the demand signal that drives inventory decisions and capital efficiency across TELUS? We're seeking an analytical, results-driven Demand Planner to own end-to-end demand planning within our Purchasing & Inventory Management Infrastructure (PIMI) team.
You will translate program plans and demand patterns into a defensible statistical and consensus forecast that supply chain, network, and capital teams rely on for planning. Partnering with stakeholders to capture forward-looking requirements, you'll build the single demand number the business plans against—combining statistics, business input, and disciplined reconciliation.
The PIMI team is critical to TELUS's network infrastructure reliability and success. We're responsible for demand and supply planning, plus strategic transformational initiatives. Your role shapes how we build with confidence.
What you'll do
- Build and optimize the statistical baseline forecast across your assigned portfolio, selecting appropriate models for demand patterns (smooth, variable, intermittent/lumpy) and segmenting SKUs using ADI/CV² and ABC-XYZ classification
- Own the consensus forecast by running structured demand reviews: capturing program and stakeholder input, reconciling against the statistical baseline, and producing one agreed set of numbers for supply planning
- Manage the Sales and Operations feedback loop for intermittent and program-driven materials through recurring stakeholder sessions, confirming timing and quantities before requirements convert to purchase signals—reducing surplus and obsolete exposure
- Communicate the demand plan using data-driven storytelling, making forecasts transparent and defensible across the organization while partnering with supply planners on safety stock, segmentation, and stocking policy decisions
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort on predictable items and focus the team on high-risk, intermittent, and program-critical SKUs

- Strong analytical capabilities including data analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets
- Working knowledge of forecasting methods and demand segmentation, including statistical baseline models, intermittent demand handling, and ABC-XYZ or ADI/CV² classification
- Strong business acumen including understanding of upstream and downstream stakeholder relationships and how the demand signal drives supply outcomes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders, combined with strong organizational abilities, decisiveness, action-oriented mindset, curiosity, and ownership mentality.
Great-to-haves
