The New Service Introduction team leads the technical strategy behind bringing new technologies to market, from LTE and 5G to next-generation architectures ORAN, network automation, and AI-driven intelligence.

What You’ll Do

 

  • As a Design Specialist ||, you will play a key role across the technology introduction lifecycle, from vendor engagement and lab validation through field trials and production rollout
  • Launch and introduction of LTE, 5G, and next gen RAN hardware, software, and features into the TELUS network
  • Apply a Reliability by Design mindset across planning, validation, deployment, and operational readiness phases
  • Translate technical LTE/5G concepts into clear business impacts and vice versa to support Go to Market alignment
  • Evaluate vendor roadmaps, clarify TELUS requirements, and influence product functionality and direction
  • Analyze early phase performance impacts of new technology trials to validate expected behavior and customer experience
  • Conduct targeted performance assessments during lab and field trials to ensure smooth transition into operational teams
  • Support field teams during new technology deployment, troubleshooting, and early rollout stages
  • Provide specialized technical guidance and expertise to engineering teams across the organization
  • Communicate technical decisions and their implications clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

Qualifications

 

What You Bring

 

Technical Expertise

 

  • 5+ years of experience with LTE/5G RF design, optimization, and performance analysis
  • Familiarity with 3GPP specifications, RRM, air-interface protocols, and interoperability standards
  • Experience writing test plans, gathering requirements, and documenting technical findings
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear, business relevant way
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including proactive vendor engagement
  • Ability to provide specialized technical support across a wide range of wireless engineering challenges
  • Deep familiarity with wireless troubleshooting workflows and technology readiness assessment processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field

 

Great-to-Haves

 

  • Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline

 

Location: Any major Canadian city

 
Salary Range:  $70,000-$120,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
