Working in collaboration with our Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance teams in TELUS Business Solutions (TBS), Strategy & Execution (S&E) is a highly engaged strategic and execution team driven to deliver results that enable and accelerate our pivot to a fast-moving, efficient business services organization delivering outstanding customer and team experiences while driving EBITDA value to TELUS.

We are becoming increasingly sophisticated in how we link operational and financial data to enable teams to make critical strategic and operational decisions using a robust view of profitability and drive the best outcomes for our customers. You'll use your stellar relationship-building skills to partner with TBS executives to drive the alignment of costs and investments to TBS strategy while being accountable for the TBS OPEX budget and monthly forecast (triage).

 

We’ll need your insights and ideas into the process of strategy creation to drive the most critical programs in support of our strategic roadmap. You will use your robust business understanding, exceptional analytical skills, and innovative thinking to propose value-add ideas that optimize our budgets and provide enhanced value for our customers, TBS and TELUS. This role is critical in shaping the future of TBS.

Here's how

 

The S&E team is responsible for creating strategy and driving execution on key programs and initiatives for approximately 6,000 TBS team members. Your job is to focus on what matters most for TBS and ensure our costs and investments are aligned along with tracking and measuring the achieved results.

 

This isn’t just about governance and oversight, but about designing and implementing innovative ideas and processes that meaningfully add value and help to drive the best outcomes. Your input and ideas will be critical in shaping TBS’ strategy. You can expect to roll up your sleeves and work side by side with your peers towards shared goals in a highly visible and critical organizational role. In this role, you will:

 

  • Act as a single point of contact for TBS leadership for management of costs and customer profitability model
  • Be accountable for completing TBS OPEX budget in partnership with Finance, CAPEX and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) primes
  • Lead strategic analyses and provide trusted expertise to synthesize results into key insights and actions that support the decision-making processes of the TBS Leadership Team
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships to transform strategy into flawless, cross-functional execution and manage progress to deliver on target
  • Influence stakeholder groups including product, sales and operations to drive tangible cost structure improvements based on your insights and recommendations

 

 

Qualifications

 

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

 

  • Valued for your business and financial acumen and ability to grasp ambiguous and complex concepts including product strategy and customer profitability modeling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, compelling visuals and influential messages appropriate for the audience including leadership and executive-level presentations
  • Known for your broad strategic and creative thinking, with an ability to provide clear vision and direction that results in execution
  • Proven relationship management experience with expert facilitation, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Agile learner with the ability to operate at the intersections of big ideas and small details, thinking and doing, boldness and humility, guiding and following

 

Great to haves

 

  • University Degree, preferably a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Finance/Accounting background
  • Minimum of 5 years - leading a team of direct reports with a track record of exceptional people leadership, including strong recruiting, developing, and talent management abilities
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, principles and practices, processes and tools
