TELUS Health is looking for a dynamic, experienced Exercise Physiologist and certified Personal Trainer to provide services at a busy clinic and fitness facility in the Toronto area.

The Exercise Physiologist /Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing clinical fitness testing, personal training and personalized fitness assessments to our executive clientele and work effectively with a team of Registered Kinesiologists. Exercise physiologists and allied health providers.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Works with Fitness Facility Manager, clinicians and fitness team to provide excellent client experience
  • Conducts personalized fitness evaluations, rehabilitation consultations, ergonomic assessments and personal training sessions
  • Adheres to strict protocols for personalized fitness evaluations
  • Provides Personal Training services and personalized exercise programs
  • Provides clients with advice and recommendations according to assessments
  • Ensures client safety in the gym 
  • Assists in the maintenance and availability of gym equipment
  • Conduct various aerobic fitness test protocols (V02max, Bruce, Gerkins, modified Bruce, etc)
  • Conduct and review ECG and stress tests including setting up electrodes/wires, blood pressure monitoring
  • Confer professionally with medical personnel regarding abnormalities and results
  • Monitor patient safety throughout the test, including using defibrillator when required
  • Perform spirometry testing
  • Follow sanitation guidelines for lab cleaning, ensuring examination rooms are stocked with medical supplies
  • Perform other testing and clinic-related tasks as required including ordering of medical supplies
  • Perform medical procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines and TELUS Health Care Centres internal policies
     

Qualifications

 

Education:

 

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics, Exercise Sciences or Kinesiology and registration with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid AED Certification

 

Experience:

 

  • Relevant experience in a clinical and or fitness environment preferred
  • Clinical experience preferred
  • Also being registered with the College of Kinesiologist of Ontario is an asset


 

Salary Range:  $24-$46
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  0%
