Financial Analyst, Account Reconciliation & Analysis
As a member of the Finance team supporting TELUS Health's operations, the Financial Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of complex financial accounts while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and analytical rigor. This position requires strong attention to detail, financial acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Reconciliation & Analysis:
- Prepare, analyze, and communicate detailed reconciliations of complex financial accounts, including bank and liquidity accounts
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, ensuring all differences are thoroughly understood and documented
- Develop clear, comprehensive explanations of account balances and reconciliation outcomes for the Finance team and stakeholders
- Post and document associated accounting journal entries required to complete reconciliation processes
- Ensure reconciliations tie to underlying bank balances and support audit requirements
Process Improvement & Communication:
- Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiency opportunities for management review and approval
- Develop effective communication strategies to explain complex financial concepts to non-specialist audiences, including internal and external auditors
- Create clear documentation and supporting materials for financial analysis and reconciliation processes
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Finance team members, operational teams, and external partners
- Collaborate with billing, accounting, and senior finance teams to support organizational objectives
- Support audit coordination and respond to auditor inquiries with thorough documentation
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, with demonstrated experience in bank reconciliation or account analysis
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Workday)
- Experience with account reconciliation processes in a corporate finance environment
- Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards

$47,000-$87,000
