Mobile Klinik (MK), now part of TELUS, is on a mission to become Canada's premier "one stop phone shop." With 100+ stores coast to coast, we're rapidly expanding to provide Canadians with a complete destination for all their wireless needs – buying, selling, repairing, and connecting devices. We’re not just growing, we’re transforming how Canadians interact with their wireless devices. As pioneers in sustainable tech solutions, we’re leading the charge in device lifecycle management through innovative partnerships and cutting-edge technology.

We are currently seeking an intermediate Financial Analyst to support the business in full-cycle accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As a Financial Analyst III, reporting to the Controller – Finance, you will be an integral part of the $30+ million per year EBITDA portfolio in all FP&A requirements. At the core of your talents is your innate ability to communicate your in-depth financial analysis into a clear format that stakeholders understand. This role is a blend of traditional FP&A duties where we leverage defined workflows and processes (which of course you will play a big role in) but also plenty of exposure to ad-hoc projects including data driven insights on operations, commercial strategy, integration, and many more areas where you can make a huge impact and pursue continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that’s making a tangible difference in reducing electronic waste through our device repair and refurbishment programs.

What you’ll do

  • Drive Financial Insights:
    • Perform month-end processes, including variance reports and reconciliations
    • Develop and present insightful financial models to key stakeholders
    • Collaborate with department heads to resolve discrepancies and optimize performance
  • Support Strategic Planning:
    • Own monthly and annual rolling forecast models
    • Conduct ROI and profitability deep dives for store-by-store valuations
    • Partner with senior stakeholders to inform strategic initiatives
  • Elevate Reporting and Analytics:
    • Deliver value-added KPI and financial reports to the Consumer team and TELUS executives
    • Perform deep dives into channel economics, identifying risks and opportunities
    • Continuously refine internal finance processes and business intelligence  tools
  • Foster Cross-Functional Relationships:
    • Serve as the primary Finance liaison for the business unit team
    • Nurture and maintain strong partnerships across departments and with the senior finance team
    • Proactively contribute to team discussions and process improvements

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years of hands-on FP&A experience, demonstrating progressive growth in financial analysis
  • Recognized for your ability to synthesize all internal and external drivers (i.e. market, economics, operations etc.) that impact holistic strategic recommendations
  • Known for your ability to effectively communicate complex financial analysis results and recommendations to our senior management team
  • Able to forge strong cross-functional working relationships and influence all levels in the organization with negotiation skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-suite apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • With a knack for being proactive and organized with ability to manage multiple deliverables within a dynamic environment with a strong attention to detail
  • Recognized as a supportive and enthusiastic team player (strategic and creative thinker who always comes up with innovative ideas and solutions)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks & projects, set goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks
  • Great-to-haves
  • Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation
  • CPA Accounting Designation preferred
  • Business Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or Engineering related degree
  • Telecom/IT and/or Retail Operations work experience considered an asset
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to streamline financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities
