TELUS Health has an incredible opportunity for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Collaborative Health Enterprise API Platform Team.
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in improving healthcare delivery and innovation across the country by developing a modern API integrations platform that connects healthcare providers with medical records. This role will allow you to work with the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment to improve integrated digital digital health ecosystems.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in Canada, you will collaborate virtually with your teams
Here's how
- Work with a high functioning team of engineers to develop modern API solutions using languages and technologies such as Ruby on Rails and GraphQL on GCP and AWS
- Strong leadership on API best practices, security and quality
- Design and develop highly scalable, extensible services
- Optimize applications for customer needs, maximizing usability and function
- Collaborate with peers to analyze technical system requirements/problems, in order to design and implement effective solutions
- Participate in scoping, development meetings and project meetings
- Be a strong team player contributing to a culture of "everyday innovation" within your team
You're the missing piece of the puzzle
- 5 or more years of experience developing and maintaining APIs
- Expert-level skills developing GraphQL APIs and GraphQL schema design
- 2 or more years of experience with Ruby on Rails
- Senior level experience designing, developing and delivering complex technical software solutions (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) for new and existing systems
- Experience with service-based architectures and microservices
- Proven experience working with cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) in production environments
- University degree in a related field or the equivalent experience demonstrated by progressive responsibilities
Great-to-haves
- Knowledge of health technology standards like HL7 FHIR and HL7 v2.x
- Design and administration of PostgreSQL or other relational databases, testing automation, continuous integration and build pipelines
