Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together
 
As a Content Manager for the Standards and Resources team, you’ll be responsible for developing, building and maintaining content across the Brand Resource Centre and telus.com/digital.  The Standards and Resource team’s purpose is to provide a centralized source of truth for future, new and current employees to learn about what it is like to work at TELUS Digital and how to work with the TELUS brand with up-to-date and best-in-class content.

Working closely with the content, design, and development teams within TELUS, you’ll use Contentful (CMS) to build pages, upload approved content and ensure that the pages we manage are up-to-date. Outside of this portfolio and team, you’ll be able to learn and grow with other content practitioners through forums hosted by the Content Community of Practice.
 

Here’s how
 

  • Support with the digital execution of Brand Resource Centre and telus.com/digital, new page builds, story uploads and business as usual updates 
  • Manage your backlog of time-sensitive content requests and deliverables 
  • Become well-versed on TELUS brand standards around content (tone of voice, writing conventions & style, imagery)
  • Assemble blocks and content elements in Contentful (CMS) to deliver the final content pages, including any personalization and regionalization needs 
  • Ability to generate, update and upload content in the CMS
  • Update existing pages or content areas with the new copy, media or layout changes as required
  • Deliberate with designers and developers to identify which parts of the design will require customization, either through the development of custom blocks, custom components or the use of layout grids
  • Work with the content strategist, designer, and writer to define the content hierarchies required by the new pages or sections being created 
  • Ensure proper keyword and metadata tagging for all pages
  • QA across different browsers and devices
     

Qualifications


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
 

  • Content management experience 
  • Familiarity with content strategy best practices, SEO and UX principles
  • Draw on UX principles to write clear, jargon-free copy that will allow users to find, learn and act on new information
  • Become well-versed on TELUS brand standards around content (tone of voice, writing conventions & style, imagery)
  • Detailed-oriented and committed to delivering great customer experiences
  • Able to gracefully receive and give feedback
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional analytical skills
  • Adept at working in a highly-collaborative, lean, agile environment
  • Understand the importance of creating accessible content and how that applies to WCAG 2.0 AA principles
  • Comfortable working with technical content
  • Strong at balancing relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Intellectually curious along with having good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a cheerleader for TELUS Standards
  • Be an astute organizer and be willing to continuously seek out missing information

 
Great-to-haves
 

  • Previous experience writing and editing
  • Experience building pages using a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Experience or familiarity with Siteimprove 
  • Post-secondary education in business and/or writing
