Make use of your analytical skills and ability to analyze and assess the impact of data on upstream and downstream systems and help clarify and define cloud-related business processes and best practices across TELUS. Help architect the transformation and modernization of our enterprise data solutions and the integration of Google Cloud and native GCP services and 3rd party data technologies.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Collaborate with both technology and business partners and domain architects in order to design robust enterprise grade solutions
  • Document various solution options and recommend the best approach balancing constraints and future needs
  • Propose solutions to enable business objectives while advancing enterprise tech strategies
  • Identify opportunities for and implement automation in the development and production process to reduce upfront hands-on work
  • Capture issues with the data that impact key business drivers and relay them to the product management teams
  • Support the data pipelines feeding into our machine learning algorithms and models
  • Participate in requirements review sessions or attend intake assessment meetings to estimate effort for high-level solutions
     

What you bring

 

  • You are recognized for your 5+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a technical capacity
  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent 
  • You bring systems design experience with the ability to architect and explain complex systems interactions, data flows, common interfaces and APIs
  • You have an architecture level understanding of APIs, security architecture, and cloud native development on all major cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake)
  • You have strong experience and knowledge for data engineering principles and best practices and the associated technologies with it
  • Advanced knowledge in Dataflow, Spark and Kafka, as well as other data pipeline components

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • GCP Professional Data Engineering certification
  • Understanding of TMF standards
  • Experience with Databricks, Azure and AWS
     
Salary Range:  $104,000-$156,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
