The TELUS SMB & Mid-Market Business Intelligence Team is the engine driving data-informed decisions for TELUS Business Solutions Marketing. Our core mandate is to develop advanced data products that yield measurable business outcomes, effectively support strategic marketing initiatives, and fuel our Agentic AI applications to maximize overall marketing performance.

What you’ll do

 

We are currently seeking an exceptional Data Management professional to oversee the TELUS Business Solutions marketing universe. In this role, you will partner with our Chief Information Officer (CIO) organization to execute complex customer matching across multiple platforms. Your primary objective will be to accurately construct our prospect and customer universe, thereby enabling effective marketing planning, strategy development, campaign execution, and performance tracking.

Here’s how you will make an impact

 

  • Lead Development: Spearhead the architectural design and construction of our active and prospect customer databases to facilitate targeted marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate Strategically: Partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify high-impact opportunities for leveraging enterprise data to unlock advanced marketing strategies
  • Evaluate and Architect: Assess the efficacy and accuracy of emerging data sources and collection methodologies; design and implement efficient data pipelines to extract actionable insights
  • Build Robust Cloud Solutions: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable data solutions utilizing cloud platforms and GCP-native technologies
  • Analyze and Support: Execute complex, ad-hoc data analyses to support critical strategic business initiatives
  • Communicate Insights: Synthesize complex data findings into compelling, accessible presentations tailored for all organizational levels, including executive leadership
  • Provide Mentorship: Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth and technical development within the organization

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Proven Leadership: Over 7 years of progressive experience leading large-scale projects that impact multiple stakeholder groups
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (specifically Google Cloud Platform) and cloud-native tools and technologies
  • Database Expertise: A highly data-driven approach, complemented by extensive experience in SQL and relational database management systems such as Oracle or SQL Server
  • Strategic Communication: Proven ability to answer complex business questions using data, define business outcomes, manage stakeholder expectations, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Analytical Acumen: The capacity to navigate data ambiguity, supported by rigorous analytical skills and a strong aptitude for quantitative metrics
  • Intellectual Curiosity: A demonstrated passion for investigating and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative data sets
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

 

Great to have

 

  • Prior professional experience in the telecommunications industry or B2B marketing
  • Proficiency in Python programming

 

Please Note: This position is initially offered as a 1-year contract role, with the opportunity for conversion to a full-time, permanent position based on performance and business needs.

 

Salary Range:  $86,000-$136,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
