Description
Do you have a passion for the latest tech, whilst cultivating strong relationships? As a Partner Manager, you will own the relationship with industry-leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners such as Motorola, ZTE, and TCL. You will be a key contributor to the TELUS device roadmap strategy, collaborating with a large group of cross-functional stakeholders to bring our OEM’s products and strategies to market.
Some background on the role:
- Along the way, you will rally a diverse set of stakeholders, both internally and with the OEMs directly, to accomplish big, audacious marketing goals to establish TELUS as the destination for the latest tech. In this role, you won’t just manage roadmaps, you will be responsible for the OEM relationships and be a driver of product-centric thinking across our teams.
Who you will be working with:
- You will report to the Manager of Partner, Forecasting and Realisation who is supported by the Director of Mobile Devices as part of the Chief Product Office (CPO).
- You will be part of a 7 person team, but will partner with 100+ team members across other functions and numerous external partners as part of your day-to-day work.

What we expect from you:
What will you do?
- Roadmap with purpose: Identify, develop, implement, and optimize device roadmap strategies for TELUS that exceed customer expectations, whilst meeting profitability targets. Partner with stakeholders to shape and influence product roadmaps, ensuring alignment to real business and customer outcomes
- Cultivate relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with OEM partners to identify device and program opportunities which strategically align for TELUS. Champion your OEM partners across a diverse stakeholder group, including marketing, supply ops, technology strategy, channel, and digital
- Strategic Analysis: Examine financial data, demand trends, and industry dynamics to identify new opportunities for TELUS and OEM partners. Develop and articulate a differentiated product strategy
- Partner with Purpose: Collaborate with Go-to-Market, Sales, Product, Marketing, Planning, Operations, and Service Delivery teams to enable end-to-end solutions across our various sales channels
- Negotiation & Execution: Lead negotiations with OEM partners across a number of areas, including device launch term-sheets, marketing funding, in-store merchandising, device pricing, and Master Purchase Agreements. Lead a wide array of special projects which will benefit your OEM partners whilst contributing to a wide range of TELUS strategic priorities
- Champion product thinking: Lead product team discussions with research and data by asking the hard (and right) questions that spark better thinking, tighter focus, and bigger impact

Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or similar post-secondary degree in business or marketing
- 4+ years leading strategic product/partner negotiations
