Who we are?


The TELUS Acquisition Pricing Team resides within the Consumer Wireless Marketing organization.  We are the team responsible for managing the dynamic world of mobility pricing within the ‘Premium’ segment.  Our pricing responsibilities stretch from offer configuration, to rate plans, to mobile devices to all promotional activities.  We are the team in Marketing which is centrally accountable for our TELUS post-paid subscriber acquisition targets as well as achieving key profitability measures.

As the Manager for TELUS Acquisition Pricing, you will be supporting a team of high potential and highly motivated marketing professionals.  Together, we will be working in a fast paced and highly data centric environment to ensure the TELUS brand and market position continues to grow profitably.  Acquisition Pricing is the hub of all key marketing activities at TELUS, which means this team is both mission critical to our success and highly visible.  As the Manager of this team, you will be interacting on a weekly basis with leadership and executives from across our key cross functional areas.

What you will do:


  • Own pricing strategy for the TELUS brand end-to-end to maximize subscriber acquisition outcomes while balancing key profitability thresholds
  • Leverage multiple pricing levers such as rate plans, device prices, gift cards, gifts with purchase and other promotional offers to achieve acquisition targets and positive customer experiences
  • Provide leadership and coaching to a high performance team ensuring they are making the decisions and recommendations using analytical best practices
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders across the TELUS and Koodo teams
  • Assess and evaluate the impact of pricing and promotions to continuously improve strategies and make recommendations
  • Help build a longer term roadmap of pricing capabilities to differentiate TELUS in the market grounded in customer demand and needs





What you bring to the team


  • Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Marketing, or Business Administration, or similar education/experience with a business/marketing emphasis
  • Prior experience in pricing, analytics and/or a strategic planning role
  • Solid understanding of mobility pricing and industry dynamics
  • Strong presence interacting with senior leaders in a large organization, ability to craft a compelling narrative, and obtain buy-in from stakeholders
  • You are data centric with strong problem solving skills including creating business cases and financial assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results through coordination of multiple initiatives, removal of obstacles while navigating environment of rapid change
  • Continuous improvement mentality encouraging “test and learn” and stretching the status quo
  • Motivated and action-oriented drive, accountable to the business, and adaptable with a positive attitude
