Our TELUS Small Medium Business (SMB) team supports the fastest and largest growing business segment in the industry. We are a dynamic and passionate sales engine that works diligently with Small Business owners to build solutions tailored to their needs. We are looking for you to join us as a Manager - Area Sales, to support a team of engaged and energetic Account Specialists. This is an exciting and rewarding people leadership role, encompassing complete ownership of sales targets that are achieved through solid recruiting, coaching, development and activity management. In this role, you will support the delivery of results and will be supported by a variety of highly engaged teams within the SMB team to help you and your team to achieve this goal.

Qualifications

 
Here’s what you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years sales and/or marketing experience
  • 2-3 years of sales leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams, excellent communication (written and oral), facilitate and deliver presentations
  • Strong knowledge of Business to Business sales environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work and thrive in a high energy, fast paced, action-oriented deadline target driven environment
  • Outstanding communicator able to effectively articulate the vision, goals and strategic imperatives of the business and act as an enabler for feedback
  • Strong and effective decision maker able to review options in a constructive and methodical manner to establish the best course of action for the organization
  • Detailed understanding of the sales process and a proven track record of achieving sustainable, profitable business results
  • Proven track record of consistent and sustainable performance, exceeding challenging financial targets


Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

 

 

  • Scale a high-performing team of BDRs and SDRs by recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
  • Play a critical role in achieving our pipeline and revenue targets for Fully Managed
  • Partner with and provide reporting on the team's activities to stakeholders, such as sales, marketing, partners, sales operations, recruiting, and business development
  • Develop reps into sales-ready candidates for future sales development positions
  • Contribute to long-term outbound strategy as MSP of choice for small businesses in Canada
  • Manage performance of BDR KPIs (activity, meetings booked, opportunities created, conversion rate etc)
  • Represent your business in monthly business reviews
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to maximize value from campaign efforts including referral programs, partnerships
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency and productivity
  • Craft and test new approaches for messaging, talk tracks, and qualification of opportunities
  • Train, enable, and upskill the team across all core business development competencies.
Salary Range:  $81,000-$121,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  $50,000-70,000

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
