We are looking for a dynamic and poised individual to support the execution of our employee well-being strategy and vision, as a critical part of our expansion globally. You are a passionate advocate of workplace health with a proven track record of implementing progressive and innovative approaches to well-being and mental health that are focused on driving cultural change and creating an amazing employee experience.

 

Reporting to the Director, Well-being & Health Services, People & Culture you are an innovative thought leader, and an insightful advisor to your team and to leadership audiences at all levels. You are known for building and valuing relationships across the organization, with senior leadership and with key stakeholders.

 

You possess strong data and analytical skills with deep experience in coordinating cross-functional teams, forming and leading programs, and the ability and confidence to present to all levels within our organization. You are a team player that understands the well-being needs of employees in today’s workforce, and have a proven ability to inspire and collaborate to reflect and deliver outcomes.

 

In this role, you will work to support an amazing team of well-being professionals designing, delivering and assessing well-being and mental health related initiatives globally.  You will be a key advisor as we continue to enhance and evolve our comprehensive well-being strategy.

Here's what you’ll do

 

  • Champion the importance of optimal organizational health and well-being within TELUS
  • Lead a team of well-being experts on well-being implementation activities, and coach others through influence
  • Act as subject matter expert on our team providing advice to leadership, colleagues, and team members regarding our well-being strategy, well-being initiative implementation, mental health and psych safety strategic plans and more, in countries across the world.
  • Thoughtfully construct an operational plan to execute on our comprehensive well-being model, and looks for ways to enhance our current service delivery model
  • Passionately lead the continued evolution and execution of a best in class well-being & mental health strategy, that aligns with the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety and ISO 45003 in order to maximize support for the psychological well-being of our team members and their families
  • Provide thought leadership, market intelligence and best practice at a global level on well-being topics to improve organizational capabilities
  • Build measurement strategies into your approach so we can leverage key data insights ongoing to identify trends/risks, monitor progress and improve our approach
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset; continually look for opportunities to improve the team member experience and influence our culture and our behaviours.
  • Prepare and deliver high impact, persuasive presentations to leaders and team members about our progressive approach when required
  • Build relationships and lead plans with cross-functional teams, internal and external partners, and vendors 
  • Collaborate with our Communications team to think outside of the box to create innovative, creative promotional and education strategies to bolster team member well-being

Qualifications

 


What you bring

 

  • Impactful Leader- extensive experience in leading teams that implement high impact well-being initiatives. Demonstrated success supporting highly engaged and high performance teams
  • Strategist- Minimum 10 -12 years’ progressive experience in a strategy-leading role in the area of workplace well-being. Proven expertise creating strategic plans that align with a best in class framework like the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety
  • Operations expertise- Experience managing well-being amenities and facilities within buildings like meditation suites, and fitness centres
  • Consultant: exceptional collaboration, relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills, including compelling storytelling and presentation to executive audiences, and advanced stakeholder management
  • Problem solver: the fundamentals of taking a problem, examining the challenge, building recommendations and executing on those recommendations
  • Compelling communicator: clear, concise and influential in all aspects of communication. Ability to communicate across a broad spectrum from detailed level to senior executives.  Must be adept at conveying complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Driver: proven track record leading and delivering on multiple, complex initiatives simultaneously from creation to tactical implementation
  • Curious Connector: uses data insights to support your gut when making decisions and looking for ways to continuously improve our approach 
  • Demonstrated experience influencing executives including VPs and Senior Vice Presidents
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education in a health related or human resources related field

  • Experience designing an operational model for global delivery of well-being, through to implementation

Salary Range:  $95,000-$143,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  20%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
