What you do:

 

TELUS Health is seeking a Information Services Manager who will foster an environment that encourages collaboration and psychological safety. You will provide technical leadership for a challenging application, integration and solution development projects of medium to high complexity and team size for our customers in the healthcare industry. You will be part of a dynamic technical team responsible for application development, business analytics, operational and batch reporting on a wide variety of technologies. You have a ‘can-do’ attitude and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.  But most importantly, you are a team player who works best in collaborative environments and understands the importance of building and maintaining an engaging culture.

    • Lead teams who use Agile program delivery practices and DevOps code release practices

Qualifications


Required Knowledge:

 

  • Subject Matter Expertise: The ability to provide knowledge, expertise, and guidance, providing coaching and advice to support the team
  • People Management and Team Building: Extensive experience and demonstrated success as a technical leader, with a proven track record of growing and developing practitioners 
  • Delivery Management: Proven success acting as a lead or manager for the agile delivery of software or platform products, coordinating with other streams and stakeholders
  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: The ability to champion, coach, motivate, and empathize with team members while partnering and building relationships with TELUS Health leadership and Product
  • Budget Management & Prioritization: Ability to effectively manage and operate team budgets and prioritize work effectively and efficiently across the team
  • Strategic Thinking & Change Management: Ability to connect the dots between the team and broader organizational context and manage change effectively within the team

 

Great-to-haves
 

  • Background in Health Care or Health Insurance industries is an asset
  • Experience working in a software development manager role with demonstrated leadership performance, career progression, and understanding of software development
  • Understanding of TELUS’ development practices and key improvement opportunities, challenges, and benefits
  • Understanding of cloud computing, data analytics and reporting
  • Experience with performance measurement of people and developing measurement mechanisms
  • Experience using a range of Agile project/task management software and tools and experience leveraging them to support acceleration
  • Experience with change management and/or deploying enterprise distributed systems in a production environment
  • Strong bias to action with the ability to work independently to produce the required results
  • Experience supporting DevOps teams with Solution Architecture, Solutions Design and Engineering
  • Continuous improvement mentality-challenging the status quo
  • Collaborative, learner and knowledge transfer skills are required
  • Computer science, information technology, engineering or similar post-secondary degree
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
