We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, SMB Wireline Planning, Forecasting, and Analysis to join the TELUS Small & Medium Business Solutions (SMB) Strategy & Planning team within a dynamic, agile, and entrepreneurial environment. The SMB Strategy & Planning team is responsible for driving profitable growth within the Business P&L through strategic program development, P&L management and governance, and acting as strategic advisors to our Finance and Marketing partners.

You will lead the SMB Wireline Planning team responsible for the annual, quarterly and monthly business and financial planning processes for the Business P&L. Our Leadership team will look to you directly for stewardship, strategic guidance, and performance insights on our national Business Wireline base.

 

You will also be responsible for leading strategic reviews, development of business cases, and collaboration on deep dives to enable executive decision support. Reporting directly to the Director, SMB Planning, Forecasting, and Analysis, you will also be responsible for leading and coaching a high performing strategic planning team.

 

Here’s how

 

  • Lead the development of the annual and long-term financial plans
  • Lead or contribute to semi-annual strategy reviews/presentations
  • Set targets for and monitor performance of core KPIs (Activations, Deactivations, Revenue, COA/COR, etc.)
  • Manage the monthly forecasting process and deliver monthly performance updates to the Senior Leadership team
  • Lead, mentor and coach direct team members and collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Investigate changes to underlying performance, analyze key market shifts and size business impact of opportunities and risks
  • Develop scenario-based analyses and make strategic recommendations to the Senior Leadership team
  • Responsible for P&L stewardship and education within the marketing team, providing a critical perspective on the P&L impact of key initiatives
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic outlook for the Wireline P&L, including translating foundational B2B Wireline industry trends and product innovation into performance and profitability drivers
  • Build collaborative partnerships with stakeholder teams across Finance and Marketing

 

 

Qualifications

 

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

 

  • Strong business acumen and a proven ability to synthesize business results into actionable insights
  • Highly proficient in business and financial analysis with deep Excel experience
  • Proven, self-directed, hypothesis-driven problem solving approach
  • Telecommunications expertise; wireline experience preferred
  • Consulting, strategy or finance backgrounds would be highly valued
  • University Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience (MBA preferred)

Salary Range:  $102,000-$152,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  20%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
