As a Security Consultant on the Security Delivery team, you will implement and integrate various security solutions such as Firewalls, VPN, IPS, Content Filtering and-or NAC for TELUS Security's external customers (all markets). Delivering a variety of security related technology projects, you will exceed customer expectations by ensuring they are set up to have a safe and secure environment. You will work with many customers & setups, as well as many teams within TELUS. You'll also be collaborating very closely with your peers and with extended team (ie designers & developers of our Security Services or day2 teams). In other words, you will be able to get rapidly much experience to become a SME and a trusted advisor.


What you’ll do


  • Lead hands-on deployment and configuration experience with Security products such as Cisco ASA/FirePower/FTD, Palo Alto Networks and Cloud solutions, Cisco IronPort ESA/WSA, SafeNet MFA, OneLogin and-or Cisco ISE within Small-Medium Businesses and-or large organizations
  • Ensure timely execution, clear communication of risks, and profitable delivery of security solutions
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direction by developing repeatable work methods, standards for firewall solutions
  • Work hand in hand with day2 Security teams to support a solid Customer Experience, for Managed Security Services projects
  • Design, and capacity plan complex and multi-vendor security solutions including planning and organizing your work based on multiple project timelines and priorities
  • Deploy Security solutions on premise (physical devices), on virtual environments and-or on public cloud infrastructure.
  • Make timely and logical decisions by analyzing diverse information streams, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in order to resolve deployment challenges
  • Support sales engineers as well as design engineers during presales phase and participate as required on Proof of Concept and Pilot engagements
  • Work 80% from the office to respect Government of Canada compliance contracts with some of our customers (TELUS offices : Toronto 25 York, Ottawa Slater St, Rimouski or customer office in Montréal/Dorval area)


What you bring


  • 3-5 years’ experience in Security Solutions including technical knowledge of engineering, computer and network security, security protocols
  • Confident in your advanced foundation in networking architecture and protocols based on the OSI model from layer 1 to 7
  • Regarded for your focus on TCP/UDP/IP protocols and your deep understanding of their function and design
  • Respected for your knowledge of security products including functional and design concepts across the entire information management lifecycle for these technologies: Cisco ASA/FirePower/FTD, Palo Alto Networks and Cloud solutions, Cisco IronPort ESA/WSA, SafeNet MFA, OneLogin and-or Cisco ISE
  • Committed to continuous personal development to maintain and enhance technical security knowledge
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Canadian Government Secret Security Clearances or the ability to obtain
  • Availability for evening and weekend work as required




  • Bilingual English & French
  • Vendor certifications such as: Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, etc.
  • Fortinet knowledge / expertise / certs
  • Public Cloud knowledge / expertise / certs (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Automation knowledge (ie Ansible/Python)
  • Experience in network and application-level security testing/review
