As a member of the TELUS Partner Solutions (TPS) – Roaming Team, the Network Specialist II will be responsible for providing roaming leadership (operational and technical expertise) used to tightly manage our roaming operations – ensuring the highest level of roaming quality for our customers while maximizing revenue and decreasing costs.

 

What you will do:

  • Participate & represent TPS on cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide leadership & expertise on managing roaming quality
  • Create quality programs to measure the customer experience using testing & monitoring tools
  • Monitor & analyze roaming traffic trends to identify opportunities & issues. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate & create action plans to improve quality
  • Provide insight on partner’s network quality at national & regional levels
  • Ensure TELUS roaming traffic is steered to preferred partners
  • Interlock with partners & vendors on roaming quality
  • Manage roaming quality scorecard & reporting
     

What you bring

 

  • Strong knowledge of wireless provisioning & assurance processes. 
  • Established understanding of wireless networks, network elements, & roaming principals
  • Knowledge of the wireless industry, service provider, technology and industry structure/practices.
  • Experience with wireless GSM roaming agreements
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organization abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to research, investigate, evaluate and clear issues
  • Excellent computer skills, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Suite
  • Project planning and project management skills would be an asset

 

Required Professional Designation/Certification

  • Bachelor / University degree and or equivalent
  • 5+ year experience in a wireless telecommunications environment.
  • Experience working for wireless carriers or vendors
