As we continue scaling toward becoming one of the world’s leading corporate venture capital platforms, we are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Investment Director & Chief Operating Officer to help shape the future operating model of a modern, AI-enabled global CVC platform focused on both investment performance and strategic value creation across the TELUS ecosystem.

This is a unique leadership opportunity at the intersection of venture investing, portfolio strategy, operations, and innovation. Reporting to the Managing Partner, the successful candidate will serve as a strategic deputy across fund operations, portfolio management, governance, value creation, and platform development while helping shape the future operating model of a modern, AI-enabled global CVC platform.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership & Platform Development

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the Managing Partner across operational, portfolio, and organizational priorities.
  • Help scale TELUS Global Ventures into a globally recognized, institutionally rigorous venture platform.
  • Contribute to long-term platform strategy, operating model evolution, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve scalability, execution quality, and decision-making across the platform.

Portfolio Management & Governance

  • Oversee portfolio governance, valuation processes, portfolio analytics, reporting, and investment committee operations.
  • Drive institutional-quality portfolio management practices, including KPI tracking, performance reviews, risk management, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support portfolio company engagement through strategic guidance, governance participation, and value creation initiatives.
  • Serve as a board director, observer, or strategic advisor where appropriate based on portfolio needs and individual expertise.

Operations & AI-Enabled Execution

  • Lead operational excellence initiatives across systems, workflows, knowledge management, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement AI-enabled tools and automation opportunities to modernize venture operations and improve team productivity.
  • Build scalable operating processes that support continued growth across investment activity and portfolio complexity.
  • Partner closely with finance, legal, strategy, and TELUS business units to optimize operational execution.

Ecosystem & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as an ambassador for TELUS Global Ventures with founders, co-investors, ecosystem partners, and senior TELUS leadership.
  • Help shape and communicate TGV’s market positioning, strategic narrative, and value proposition.
  • Strengthen relationships across the venture ecosystem and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience across venture capital, corporate venture capital, growth equity, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, portfolio operations, or related fields.
  • Strong finance and analytical foundation with experience in valuation, portfolio management, governance, reporting, and investment processes.
  • Experience operating as a senior cross-functional leader within a high-growth or complex organizational environment.
  • Proven ability to build scalable systems, processes, and operational infrastructure.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across executive teams, founders, investors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Deep interest in AI-enabled operations, workflow modernization, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience supporting portfolio companies through governance, strategic planning, or operational engagement is strongly preferred.
  • Board, observer, or governance experience is an asset.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong judgment, adaptability, and execution orientation
