In this role, you will be an integral part of the Benefits Administration team, helping to deliver excellent operational support and impeccable customer service to over 27,000 team members and 22,000 retirees, and many more external customers across Canada.

 

Alongside the larger P&C Operations team, you will put your best foot forward by helping:

 

  • Deliver superior team member experience: your strong focus on the customer experience will drive better outcomes for our team members
  • Bridge the gap between systems and people: you will be the business process expert of the various tools we own and provide ongoing coaching to our benefit and payroll specialists
  • Improve the way we work: you will bring a mindset of continuous improvement and assist the team in implementing changes to our processes
  • Maintain the integrity of our overall data through audits, automation, and a relentless focus on safeguarding the quality of our work

Here’s how

 

Reporting to the P&C Manager – Benefits Administration, you will bring your A-game in the following responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for in-depth analysis and definition of business needs and the design, development and delivery (including documentation, system testing, communication) on medium to very complex benefits administration projects 
  • Create process documentation that will support effective cross training of roles within the team, and promote client service delivery responsiveness
  • Identify and implement process improvements in various benefits administration functions that will enhance the team member experience and improve efficiencies
  • Conduct system audits and collaborate with our technical teams to address defects and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Support integration and onboarding activities of new mergers and acquisitions
  • Ensure readiness for annual enrolment – liaise with stakeholders to ensure processes and system updates related to benefit plan changes are complete
  • Liaise with team members, impacted business units, partners and vendors on cross-functional implementation activities to meet deliverables 
  • Act as a subject matter expert of our benefit programs and processes – you will assist the team with the resolution of benefits issues from team members
  • Maintain awareness of available technology and benefits administration trends that could contribute to the team’s operational efficiencies

 

 

Qualifications

  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships, both internally and externally
  • Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen
  • 5+ years’ experience in total rewards with an understanding of the nuances between federally and provincially regulated environments
  • Breadth of experience in benefit administration and implementation of design changes for flexible benefit plans (both union and non-union benefit plans)
  • Strong understanding of Canada Labor Code and Employment Standards
  • Advanced MS Excel skills with experience using Google Workspace, and ability to adapt to internal systems

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • CEBS, GBA, or other relevant industry designations 
  • Bilingual in English and French, both written and oral
