Position Overview:
The Product Manager role is key to the success of the Unified Communication and Collaboration product portfolio at TELUS. This results-driven position leads strategic projects and solutions that enhance profitability, operational efficiency, growth, retention and customer experience while creating long-term portfolio value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Business Acumen
- Work with product leadership and stakeholders to identify opportunities, evaluate business performance, and support decision-making through data-driven insights. Requires solid understanding of cost models, pricing tools, market dynamics, and ability to work with ambiguity and complex issues.
- Performance Analysis & Analytical Excellence
- Analyze performance and customer data to provide management information, root cause analysis, and strategic recommendations. Requires strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with formal business methodologies experience.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with product managers, finance, client service management, sales, and operations to understand key drivers and develop solutions. Requires excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Project & Profitability Management
- Lead initiatives to ensure progress and completion of key profitability projects while managing complex, multi-priority initiatives. Requires strong leadership abilities, project management skills, and capacity to lead cross-functional teams.
- Customer Experience & Relationship Building
- Drive customer experience improvement initiatives to reduce churn and increase retention/renewal. Build relationships with TELUS and Cisco sales teams across Canada to drive renewal, migration, and funnel momentum. Requires effective negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Vendor Partnership & Portal Management
- Support growth and retention initiatives with key vendors (Cisco and Microsoft) and manage key partner solution portals. Requires adaptability and organizational skills with exceptional prioritization abilities.
- Market Intelligence & Strategic Thinking
- Understand competitive landscape and market dynamics, presenting findings to peers, sales, and product marketing teams. Requires quick learning ability, high motivation, and strong team collaboration skills.
- Funnel Management & Organizational Excellence

- Manage renewal initiatives and funnels with product management, sales, and deal support. Requires exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities with attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- University degree in business, economics, marketing, mathematics, computer science, or engineering
- Equivalent experience considered for other disciplines
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years in market, channel, sales, operations or product management within IT/telecommunications
- Strong awareness of technology trends and their potential impact on TELUS services
Technical Knowledge
- Business sales and customer management processes
- Products and services: voice, data, mobility, internet, and IT solutions
- Voice over IP platforms (Cisco, Microsoft, Ring Central, Mitel, Avaya)
- Financial concepts including revenue, costs, and profitability
- MS Office Suite (advanced PowerPoint and Excel), Salesforce.com
