About TELUS Health

TELUS Health is committed to leveraging technology to improve health outcomes and enhance the patient experience across Canada. As we continue to expand our integrated healthcare services, we're seeking a strategic leader to optimize our electronic medical record systems and clinical workflows across all business units.

Our team and what we’ll accomplish together

We are seeking an experienced Configuration specialist to lead the strategic optimization of our healthcare technology systems across our growing Preventive Care, Executive Health, and Occupational Health clinics. This newly created role is central to our "One Patient, One Record" initiative and represents an exciting opportunity to drive innovation, enhance patient care delivery, and establish best-in-class operational excellence across all TELUS Health touchpoints.
As we continue to expand our integrated healthcare services, you'll play a pivotal role in leveraging cutting-edge EMR technology to create seamless, patient-centered care experiences while empowering our clinical teams with optimized workflows and enhanced system capabilities.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of the TELUS Health Clinics team, you will support our national, multi-site TELUS Health Clinic teams by ensuring the smooth operation, optimization, and sustainability of our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and other electronic systems critical to clinical care.
In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert on TELUS EMR platforms (CHR, MazikCare), working cross-functionally with clinicians, site managers, and system and technology teams to streamline workflows, enhance user experience, and drive continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

You’ll be the go-to person for everything EMR—leading onboarding and training, managing system configurations, troubleshooting issues, and supporting integration with related systems. You will also play a vital role in systems administration, supporting email, network access, web content management, and digital communications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the EMR super-user and subject matter expert (e.g., CHR, MazikCare), providing ongoing technical support across the organization
  • Analyze and document EMR workflows; identify opportunities for optimization and standardization across clinical sites
  • Assist in design, control access, configure, and maintain EMR templates, forms, reminders, and clinical tools to streamline documentation and enhance care delivery
  • Manage user accounts (creation, modification, termination) and oversee EMR onboarding and training for new staff and learners
  • Troubleshoot system issues, provide user support, and document resolutions for continuous knowledge improvement
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of EMR systems through vendor training and self-directed learning
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Medical Imaging, Labs, Patient Registration) to ensure effective system integration and timely updates
  • Liaise with vendors, IT partners, and third-party providers to resolve technical issues and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Support revenue-generating modules, billing workflows, and appointment scheduling tools
  • Maintain clinic websites and digital communication tools, including newsletters and patient-facing updates
  • Lead training on clinical documentation tools and support data collection initiatives
  • Develop and maintain EMR-related documentation, policies, and downtime procedures
  • Lead or contribute to special projects focused on digital transformation, care optimization, and clinician workflow improvements
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • College certificate, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology (1–3 years minimum)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in healthcare technology environments, particularly in EMR administration within primary care or multi-site clinical settings
  • Strong working knowledge of EMR platforms (CHR, MedAccess, MazikCare)

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Advanced proficiency with EMR configuration and optimization
  • Strong analytical skills, including workflow analysis and troubleshooting
