Drive strategic process optimization for TV vendor settlements as a Senior Business Analyst, overseeing $45M in monthly transactions. This key role combines advanced analytical expertise with operational leadership to:

 

  • Document and optimize critical settlement processes at scale
  • Identify and lead implementation of innovative automation solutions
  • Apply sophisticated analytical techniques to reduce revenue leakage and maximize operational efficiency
  • Bridge strategic alignment between business and technical teams within a robust revenue assurance framework

What you’ll do

 

  • Processing Monthly TV Payments: Reviewing TELUS TV contracts and customer billing data to calculate payments owed to content providers, tariff associations, and key partners for the TV portfolio, then preparing those payments for processing
  • Investigating Payment Issues: When vendors call with questions about their payments or when internal teams notice discrepancies, digging into billing systems and contracts to identify issues and implement fixes
  • Creating Reports and Dashboards: Pulling data from various systems using SQL queries, building Excel models to track payment trends, and updating dashboards that leadership uses to monitor costs and payments
  • Working on Process Improvements: Identify and implement automation opportunities using SQL, Excel macros, RPA, AI tools for manual tasks that could be automated, collaborating with IT teams to streamline payment workflows, reduce repetitive tasks and helping onboard new content vendors by setting up their payment processes
  • Enhance preventive and detective controls in TV vendor settlements
  • Design and monitor controls to minimize revenue leakage, over-billing, and discrepancies
  • Collaborating Across Teams: Regular meetings with Product, Marketing, Finance, and regulatory (legal) teams to discuss and implement new TV packages into settlement process, resolve billing questions, and provide insights on how content costs are impacting profitability
  • Lead the documentation of existing RA and settlement processes (Process Documentation & Standardization), Map current vs. ideal state workflows to identify inefficiencies and control gaps

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5–10 years of experience in revenue assurance, process improvement, financial systems, or business analysis in telecom or a similar industry
  • CPA or process improvement certifications are strong assets
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, VBA), SQL (Oracle/GCP), Tableau/Power BI
  • Strong understanding of telecom revenue streams, billing systems, and settlement logic
  • Familiarity with Excel macros/RPA/AI tools automation
  • Strong knowledge of RA best practices and telecom business operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Self-driven with strong problem-solving, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex, high-risk initiatives

 

 

Salary Range:  $72,000-$108,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
