Your Role
The Senior Channel Engagement Manager is the primary source of deal support for the TPS sales channel with respect to deal qualification, sales enablement, positioning, packaging pricing, and contracting of next generation wireline and wireless products and services. You will act as a trusted advisor, contributing to the development of winning IoT and white label mobility solutions, while working to achieve total contract growth, revenue and profitability targets.
Superior industry and competitive knowledge in the wireless telecom sector, a strong business acumen, well developed presentation and sales skills, a solid understanding of deal-based pricing, and familiarity with the B2B sales process are keys to success in this role.
Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Act as the first and primary contact for TPS’ direct sales and channel partners regarding opportunity specific questions for our wholesale communications offerings
- Work closely with the sales team to identify and understand feature and commercial gaps; review gap resolutions with product marketing and liaise with sales.
- Identify and fulfill needs for product training in the channels, including technical sales;
- Provide regular feedback to product management on customer activity and issues to drive product enhancements and developments.
- Define funnel targets and monitor funnel health relative to quarterly TCG targets; work with Sales leadership to develop comprehensive plans to grow and accelerate the funnel
- Seek to understand the market and competitive landscape, offerings, competitive positioning and review findings in discussions and decision making sessions with peers, sales and marketing.
- Work on large complex, high risk/profile deals and provide input on products and solutions to be presented to customers and partners
- Engage and participate in account and opportunity reviews, operational reviews and sales planning
- Provide input on solutions to be presented to customers and partners that help position TELUS' unique business value; collaborate with marketing to improve the effectiveness of lead generation and sales enablement programs
- Collaborate at all levels in the organization and demonstrate ability to lead, manage and influence at the senior and executive levels. Influence sales on which service offerings and solutions to be presented to customers.
- Collaborate with product management to develop pricing proposals; negotiate and authorize contract changes, and present customer proposals
Required Knowledge
- Knowledge of the TELUS Premier Sales Organization sales management process or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of the wireless telecommunications sector, ideally in the wholesale space, including IoT, messaging, and data monetization
- Working understanding of the features & benefits of SIP trunking, toll-free and UC solutions
- Detailed knowledge of relevant product contract terms & conditions
- Solid business and financial acumen, proficient in use of cost models and pricing tools
- Effective negotiation, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
Required Experience
- 6+ years’ successful experience in sales and marketing within the ITC sector
- Experience with the development and successful execution of sales and marketing plans
- Demonstrated ability to support highly complex opportunities with multiple priorities
- Product or Channel Marketing experience preferred
- Bilingual (French and English) communications skills are an asset
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in sales methodologies (e.g. Challenger, SPIN, MEDDIC, BANT)
- Knowledge of global telecommunications regulations and standards
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
