You’ll be a part of the team and journey that will transform the way we do business across various domains. You’ll collaborate with teams across the company, seeking out various data sources to help identify new business opportunities while championing data-driven decision-making and the accelerated adoption of AI.

 

As a Senior Data Analyst on the team, you will combine your expert knowledge of data analytics and visualization with business acumen to create reporting tools to facilitate data exploration, analytics, to enable data-driven decision making for business stakeholders.

What you'll do

 

  • Tackle complex data analysis challenges, working with big data to uncover key insights that drive business outcomes.
  • Write SQL code involving multiple tables and aggregations, ensuring optimal query performance. 
  • Design and develop robust data models that effectively organize and structure data to support complex queries, reporting, and analytics. Ensure models are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Lead the development of visually compelling, interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Looker, DOMO, and Tableau. Transform raw data into easy-to-understand insights that directly impact decision-making. Create user-friendly data visualizations that communicate complex information effectively to a diverse audience, from executives to operational teams.
  • Engineer end-to-end data solutions primarily on GCP services like BigQuery, GCS, Cloud Composer, and Looker, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Engage with various business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop dashboards and reports, and ensure the delivery of actionable insights.
  • Lead a team of developers towards the implementation of operational and partnership dashboards using Looker, to help the leadership make informed data-driven decisions

 

 

What you bring

 

  • 6+ years in roles such as Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar, with a strong focus on SQL and data modeling
  • Expertise in creating and managing interactive dashboards and reports using leading BI tools such as Looker, DOMO, and Tableau. Ability to transform data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
  • Strong experience with relational database systems, particularly BigQuery, Oracle, and SQL Server. Demonstrated ability to write complex SQL queries and optimize database performance
  • Strong ability to identify requirements and build reporting solutions in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of driving data-based decisions in a consultative style with executive and senior management stakeholders


Great-to-haves

 

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in the telecom industry
  • Certifications in Data Engineering or Business Intelligence technologies

 

 

Salary Range:  $86,000-$130,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
