Join our team and what we’ll accomplish together
The Wireless Core Team is responsible for end-to-end network architecture, development, and operations, including service orchestration and automation. We design, develop, maintain, and support the Wireless Core and Policy Network and its services.
Working as a team, we introduce cutting-edge technology and software to drive network orchestration and automation in the rapidly evolving 5G ecosystem, propelling TELUS’ digital transformation.
We create previously impossible solutions to deliver unique and rich wireless experiences for our customers. These innovative solutions revolutionize connectivity, enhance quality of life, and spark global innovation by enabling cellular networks and expanding access to the digital world.
You will play a pivotal role in redefining customer experiences by providing strategic guidance, managing change, and leveraging state-of-the-art security and AI to deliver reliable, cost-effective products.
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage the TELUS Wireless Policy Network (PCRF/PCF) team, encompassing architectural design, engineering implementation, and continuous operational maintenance.
- Develop and articulate a clear technical vision and strategy for the Wireless Policy Network PCRF/PCF, aligning with other network functions such as SMF, SPGW-C, CHF,IMS,NRF, and NSSF.
- Design, deploy, integrate, and support scalable, high-availability, carrier-grade systems to handle increasing demands with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Create the automation strategy for the team and drive CI/CD pipeline initiative to automate testing and deployment processes, reducing time from development to production and ensuring future cost saving.
- Provide comprehensive technical requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria to direct DevOps teams in the implementation of network solutions.
- Curate and maintain the technical backlog, prioritizing items based on business value, technical feasibility, and operational necessities.
- Coordinate sprint planning and oversee product delivery schedules through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage Network Operations Center (NOC) tickets, troubleshoot issues with cross-functional teams, and conduct root-cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
- Guide the testing and validation in all deployments in adherence to TELUS’ Change Management Process.
- Lead the wireless policy network projects fostering collaboration with vendors and Stakeholders from other teams such as RAN, Wireless Core, Signaling, Virtualized Infrastructure, IMS/Voice, SDM/HSS/UDM Databases, Charging, and Business Operations.
- Participate in design, dimensioning, and roadmap discussions on behalf of the Policy Team and steer for the reliable and sustainable subscriber growth plan.
- Manage the life cycle of Wireless Policy Network products, including scaling, patching, upgrading, and maintaining network functions.
- Execute and assist on Proofs of Concept trials, generate innovative ideas.
- Work with RedHat OpenShift and other infrastructure-layer tools in a CaaS/PaaS model.
- Automate health checks, preventive maintenance, configuration changes, and operational tasks through CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards and analyze traffic patterns, lead the resolution of complex issues from initiation to completion, and drive the optimization of network architecture.
- Participate in incident handling, root cause analysis and operational on-call rotation.
- Design budgets for the Wireless Policy network, capacity forecast and future requirements.
