Our work powers TELUS’ digital transformation and delivers reliable, high-performance connectivity that enhances lives and supports innovation.

We are building the future of mobile communications, and now we are seeking a Subject Matter Expert to own and lead the Mobile Packet Core Control Plane Product and initiatives.

As a Control Plane Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the technical strategy and roadmap for the control plane functions that govern mobility and session management in our 4G and 5G networks. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and vendor partners, to ensure the delivery of scalable, resilient, and high-performance control plane solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in mobile core network architecture, particularly in Mobility and Session Management functions.

Description

  • Facilitate sprint planning and manage product delivery timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for control plane functions and interfaces.
  • Lead the product design and lifecycle for Control Plane solutions in both 4G (EPC) and 5G networks, ensuring alignment with business needs, technical requirements, and market trends.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on technical analysis, performance metrics, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate and integrate new control plane technologies and solutions.
  • Drive the operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the control plane and the services it provides.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (3GPP), security protocols, and regulatory requirements for mobile networks.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in MME/AMF, SMF, SPGW-C, NRF, and NSSF functions, including interworking between 4G and 5G.
  • Monitor network performance and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement of control plane functions.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Mobile Packet Core Control Plane.

What you bring
