We’re building what was once impossible and now we’re looking for an IoT Product Owner to help drive this vision forward.
As an IoT Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the product roadmap, technical strategy and backlog for mobile core network solutions designed to support IoT services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and customer success, to ensure the development and delivery of innovative, scalable, and secure IoT connectivity solutions. The role requires deep technical knowledge of mobile core network architecture and a strong understanding of IoT business models and market demands.
Description
What you’ll do
- Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for IoT services over the mobile core network.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business goals, customer needs, and emerging trends.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing IoT connectivity, latency optimization, and security across 4G, 5G, and future network evolutions.
- Guide the DevOps team in the implementation of network solutions by providing clear requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring that priorities reflect business value, feasibility, customer impact and timeliness.
- Facilitate sprint planning and manage product delivery timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Write descriptive user stories and acceptance criteria to guide the development teams.
- Prioritize features and improvements based on technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors, network architects, engineering teams, and operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of network capabilities.
- Partner with commercial teams to understand market demands and tailor IoT connectivity solutions to customer needs.
- Drive the business value of IoT solutions by translating customer and market needs into high-impact network features.
- Build, maintain and leverage strong relationships with your stakeholders and maintain a collaborative model in order to ensure that you are collectively meeting the requirements of the business
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as CRTC, and ensure compliance with industry standards, security, and privacy requirements.
- Work with other strategic leaders to define, implement, and track the financial goals of the IoT core domain.
- Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of IoT-specific network slices, Quality of Service (QoS) management, and security policies.
- Guide the team on integrating NB-IoT, LTE-M, and 5G capabilities to enable seamless IoT connectivity.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintain high availability of the IoT mobile core network.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to continually enhance product features and performance.
- Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in IoT service offerings.
- Define and track KPIs to measure the success of the IoT mobile core network solutions and demonstrate ROI.
Qualifications
What you bring
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mobile core (3G/4G/5G) architecture, design, implementation, and operations.
- Expertise in mobile core protocols such as Diameter, GTP, Radius, SIP, MQTT, and HTTP/2.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (NFV, SDN) and cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes, Docker, RedHat OpenShift).
- Understanding of Security controls (authentication, encryption, IDS/IPS) applicable in the mobile networks
- Familiarity with IoT-specific standards such as NB-IoT, LTE-M, and 5G network slicing.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like GitLab.
- Exposure to analytics platforms such as Splunk, Netscout, BigQuery, Looker.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge technical expertise with business strategy to drive product success.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

- Masters in business administration (MBA)
- Agile Certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner)
- Experience with Public Cloud Native Services (AWS, GCP)
- Knowledge of Radio, Transport, Signaling, and Infrastructure product design, development, and testing.
- Familiarity with industrial IoT use cases and network slicing applications
- Programming experience in Python, Ansible, or API integration
