The TELUS Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is a high performing and collaborative team that delivers oversight over all financial planning processes (budget, triage, strat check), corporate & business unit scorecards and other analysis to senior leaders and key stakeholders.

As a trusted business partner reporting to the Controller in the Corporate FP&A team, you will support and provide guidance to all senior leaders in the organisation including our Chief Financial Officer and Chief Human Resource Officer. You will take pride in what you do best, because your engagement and governance over Corporate and Business Unit Scorecards, will impact one of our biggest People & Culture initiatives at TELUS, the Performance Bonus program. At the core of your talents, is your ability to forge strong relations with a vast array of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.


Here’s how:

 

  • Assist in the development and quarterly reporting/ governance of detailed Corporate and Business Unit Scorecards, identifying key areas of risk/ opportunity and communication to senior stakeholders
  • Ensure tight alignment of Business Unit scorecard and Team Member performance results, to the overall Corporate Scorecard strategic goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with other high-performing team members in Finance and People & Culture, who can adjust to ambiguity and continuously enhance and develop quality of value-add analysis
  • Recognize and recommend measurable, broad and motivational scorecard metrics, including "selling" ideas to key stakeholders and monitoring impacts
  • Participate and drive governance committee reviews of Corporate and Business Unit Scorecards
  • Understand and assist the team in scoping out difficult tasks, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks
  • Manage and balance multiple business units and senior leadership requirements to meet deadlines and goals in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Manage the accounting (financial liability, monthly expense, forecasting and others) associated with the performance bonus program.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and innovative thinking skills with a strong sense of ownership and ability to make effective decisions and deal with complex issues
  • Confidently express complex ideas, concepts and thoughts clearly to senior leadership

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring:

 

  • With 5-7 years of progressive work experience in related positions with increasing scope and responsibility in a large, complex, and dynamic organization
  • Respected for the completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA) 
  • Known for your advanced understanding of the Canadian Telecommunications industry as well as TELUS operations
  • Regarded as an exceptional communicator, influencer and negotiator, able to build and maintain effective partnerships internally and externally with all stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Recognized for your proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sought out for your ability to seek out, analyze and translate facts, financial models and intelligence into key insights, concept and recommendations
  • Sought out for your ability to operate at the intersections of big ideas and small details, of thinking and doing, of boldness and humility, of leading and following

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Excellent working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion, SAP S4 Hana knowledge would be an asset
  • Prior experience leading management professionals
  • Interest in AI and Machine Learning in workplace
  • Strategy, project management, innovation, process improvement, and organizational development certifications

 

 

Salary Range:  $86,000-$130,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
