Join Our Team

We are looking for a high performing and engaged Senior Financial Analyst to join an exciting growth area of the business. TELUS' Consumer Finance team brings the power of Smart Technology to life for our residential and business customers and offers a unique opportunity for our team members to be at the forefront of a high profile and high growth portfolio.

Here's The Impact You'll Make and What We'll Accomplish Together

As a trusted business partner to the Financial Planning and Analysis Team, you will join the team whose focus is on enabling the Finance team for success and offer an in-depth, investigative approach to modernizing Finance functions. The core role includes Finance Integration from start to finish for TELUS’ newly acquired businesses in order to enhance quality, efficiency and effectiveness of Finance people, process, infrastructure, and controls.  We also support “Fix Finance” Projects designed to remediate or upgrade finance processes, controls, documentations, systems, and tools.  Our team has the exciting opportunity to venture into uncharted territory and be involved in high growth areas of the business and projects that will take this Finance team into the future.  We are looking for professionals with strong problem-solving skills (diagnostic and solution development, a breadth of knowledge with respect to the operational aspects of financial reporting and strong facilitation skills).  If you are self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment, loves to solve complex problems, has a sense of urgency, and excels at building relationships, this is the role for you!

What Will Your Typical Day Look Like?

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be part of team of like-minded individuals where you will work to contribute to delivery of successful projects. You will:

  • Prime the delivery of projects to improve finance functions in one or more of the following financial management functional areas: financial close and consolidation, management and financial reporting, software assessment and implementation, UAT functions, and shared services finance transformation
  • Prime Finance post-integration acquisition activities by leading workshops to understand and document key financial processes and developing integration work plan to align best practices and integration into TELUS systems and tools
  • Leverage cross-functional relationships to derive optimal resourcing and system solutions to support the desired future state
  • Assess synergies across the portfolio to drive cost savings from a systems and resource perspective
  • Assist with ad-hoc business development activities and be a trusted advisor to stakeholder teams across the organization

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Recognized for your 7 years or more of experience in finance
  • Appreciated for your comfort and ease dealing with ambiguity and complex issues and concepts demonstrating your leadership, problem solving, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Respected for your result-driven mindset and ability to take initiative and ownership of issues and tasks through to resolution
  • “Entrepreneurial” mentality, willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and step outside your sandbox when required, coupled with a positive attitude with a strong bias for action
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Financial Management and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (or working towards)

  • Project management and business process integration experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion Forecast system
  • Understanding of IFRS policies (particularly IFRS 15 and 16)
  • Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation
