Located within the Corporate Affairs and Finance team is the Finance Business Partners team; a group of passionate team members responsible for driving best-in-class, value-added services, continuous innovation, and idea generation to ensure the best outcomes for TELUS in an efficient and effective manner. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will serve as a trusted financial advisor and strategic business partner across our organization. You will be part of a collaborative finance team, working closely with various business units to drive strategic outcomes and achieve business objectives. In this role, you will analyze complex financial data, identify optimization opportunities, and provide insightful recommendations to support business decision-making. You will leverage your expertise in financial analysis and business acumen to improve profitability, develop comprehensive reports, and participate in strategic projects that drive business growth. What you’ll do
- Deliver financial operational excellence supporting your assigned portfolio
- Collaborate effectively across the organization, building strong relationships to proactively provide insights and consulting services to internal stakeholders. You'll leverage your understanding of their business, risks, and opportunities to drive profitable growth, ensure alignment with corporate priorities, and influence decision-making
- Assist in guiding and coordinating the forecasting, strategic planning and budgeting process with clear and concise commentary
- Examine internal work processes, recommend and implement process improvement ideas
- Support ad-hoc financial and operational analysis for senior management
- Coach and mentor CPA students rotating through the team
What you’ll bring
- CPA designation
- 5+ years in a financial planning & analysis type role with increasing responsibilities
- Proven track record with the creation and assessment of complex financial reports
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-suite apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to streamline financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities
- Experience in delivering insightful analysis to senior stakeholders, demonstrating a track record of driving change and influencing strategic decisions
- Ability to apply innovative ideas and solutions to complex issues, along with a strong sense of ownership and bias for action
- Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate complex ideasAbility to manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills
Great-to-Haves
- Telecom, technology or capital intensive industry background considered an asset
- Working knowledge of SAP and Oracle
- Proficiency in multiple languages is an asset
