Description

Are you a data-savvy email marketing expert who loves turning audience insights into high-performing campaigns? Do you thrive at the intersection of data strategy, marketing technology, and customer communications? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

The TELUS Rewards team is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Email Marketing & Data Manager to own and elevate how we communicate with our members and leverage data to drive program growth. This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you'll manage the full lifecycle of TELUS Rewards email communications — from strategy and build to send and performance analysis — while also leading how we harness first-party and partner data through cutting-edge data collaboration tools, including Cleanrooms.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

As the Senior Marketing Manager, Email Marketing & Data Manager, you will be the engine behind TELUS Rewards member communications and data strategy. Here's how:

Email Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Own the end-to-end management of TELUS Rewards email communications — from strategy and creative briefing through to build, QA, deployment, and performance reporting
  • Build, configure, and launch email campaigns using marketing automation platforms such as Marketo or Eloqua, ensuring accuracy, deliverability, and brand consistency
  • Develop and manage a structured email calendar, coordinating sends across member lifecycle stages, promotional campaigns, partner activations, and program updates
  • Design and implement A/B testing frameworks to continuously optimize subject lines, content, CTAs, and send timing to maximize open rates, click-through rates, and conversions
  • Monitor and report on email campaign KPIs — including deliverability, engagement, and member behaviour — and translate insights into actionable optimization strategies
  • Work closely with the Database Management Team to ensure accurate audience segmentation, list hygiene, and compliance with CASL and privacy regulations

Data Strategy & Marketing Insights

  • Lead the strategy and execution for managing, optimizing, and activating TELUS Rewards first-party data and partner data assets
  • Identifying audience insights and co-marketing opportunities from data
  • Partner with internal data, analytics, and technology teams to develop data pipelines and audience segments that power personalized member communications
  • Identify opportunities to leverage partner data to enhance targeting, improve campaign relevance, and increase program value for members
  • Ensure all data practices adhere to TELUS privacy policies, CASL requirements, and applicable regulatory standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the TELUS Rewards marketing team and the Database Management Team for all email and data-related initiatives
  • Collaborate with partnership and campaign teams to develop and execute email activations tied to key partner campaigns (e.g., WestJet, and other program partners)
  • Work with Brand and Communications teams to ensure all email communications reflect TELUS Rewards brand standards and messaging guidelines
  • Partner with Legal, Regulatory, and Privacy teams to ensure all email and data practices remain compliant
  • Provide data-driven insights and performance reporting to senior leadership to inform program strategy and investment decisions

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in email marketing, marketing automation, and/or data-driven marketing roles
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise email marketing platforms such as Marketo, Eloqua, or equivalent marketing automation tools
  • Demonstrated experience with Data Cleanrooms (e.g., Snowflake Data Clean Room, Optable, Google PAIR, LiveRamp Clean Room, or similar) for privacy-safe data collaboration
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation, list management, and CRM data structures
  • Proficiency in email performance analytics — open rates, click-through rates, deliverability, and conversion tracking — with experience translating data into actionable insights
  • Strong knowledge of CASL, GDPR, and email marketing compliance best practices
  • Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail — you take pride in flawless email builds and zero-error campaign deployments
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in loyalty, rewards, or customer engagement program marketing
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) for campaign reporting
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template customization and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with a Database Management or Marketing Operations team
  • Background in telecommunications, travel, retail, or financial services industries
