The Payments Enablement team plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional end-to-end customer experience for TELUS wireless and wireline products and services. We drive business objectives through high-impact collaboration, aligning with Marketing, Technical, Finance, and Operations teams, as well as key internal and external partners, to ensure seamless project delivery. In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive impactful cross-functional capabilities within the realm of service payments. You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of expanding and streamlining the payment checkout ecosystem. This includes managing the technical and operational rollout of new payment methods, and enablement of diverse pricing and service fee models. Success in this role centers on high-volume project delivery—ensuring that every transaction is processed efficiently and every charge is applied accurately, while maintaining the integrity of financial systems through rigorous security compliance and fraud mitigation.
Here’s how you'll be successful
- Manage the full end-to-end enablement of new products and/or services, from concept through to design, development, testing, and launch
- Own and execute payments related projects, while maintaining flexibility to support additional strategic initiatives aligned with evolving business priorities
- Engage internal and external stakeholders across business units to ensure cross-functional alignment
- Be a customer experience champion that helps Marketing to solve business problems
- Serve as a subject matter expert and the liaise between technical and non-technical personnel
- Manage the implementation of security and compliance guardrails, including Payment Card Industry(PCI) data security standards and fraud prevention measures to protect both the customer and the organization
- Synthesize complex project data into executive-level narratives to influence senior leadership and secure buy-in
- Complete capital management activities, including requesting for project funding and managing project budget
- Drive innovation and new product features to address market needs, user requests and product goals
- Work collaboratively with our stakeholder business units to identify and prioritize strategic and tactical initiatives and solutions that have the potential to create competitive advantage
- Keep informed of emerging marketing capability trends and develop forward-looking strategies and practices
Qualifications
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
You are likely in a similar product management position today, with many of the following abilities and experience points:
- You are a product/service development wizard with a proven track record in writing user stories, reviewing technical solutions, and designing test plans, all while leveraging strong project management discipline and delivery artifacts like RAID logs to lead seamless product launches and define robust post-launch support models.
- You are highly self-directed and thrive in a matrix, collaborative environment, with the ability to lead cross functional teams, set priorities and manage time efficiently
- You leverage data analysis to derive insights, track key performance metrics, and make informed decisions about feature improvements
- You like things to move fast, and are skilled at using a combination of collaboration, influence, and creativity to overcome barriers hindering progression
- You are adept at building out a long term roadmap, leveraging a test and learn approach to help inform it
- You are recognized for using data to drive decisions and action
- You are comfortable communicating at all levels (senior leaders, external stakeholders, partners and developers)
- You can manage ambiguity and synthesize complex information into meaningful conversations and recommendations
- You have technical inquisitiveness, and are willing to get into the details of a solution to the degree that you can own the solution as the business prime
Great-to-haves
We are especially motivated to connect with individuals with one or more of the following:
- 7+ years of experience in project management and hands-on product development, working with both modern and legacy technology
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in business, engineering, science, marketing, or telecommunications
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry would be an asset, as well as payments and finance domain knowledge
- MBA, PMP, Agile, or Process Management certifications would be an asset
