The IP Access Team is seeking a passionate Senior Product Manager to lead strategy and development of Business Internet product (Managed Internet Connectivity) nationally. TELUS currently enjoys market leadership in this developing space, and this is your opportunity to join a growing portfolio and be an architect of the future of networking for our business customers. The IP Access team in TELUS Business Solutions provides the strategy and thought leadership to a portfolio of services that connect businesses across Canada. Our mandate is to lead Business Solutions growth in all IP based Business connectivity services. The IP Access team supports over $200M in product revenue from HSIA and Managed connectivity. Team provides a fast-paced and exciting environment for candidates passionate about developing business strategies and bringing new solutions to market.

At TELUS, we optimize customer experience by focusing on purpose-built products that align to the needs of our customers. For Business Internet, this means growing our current managed internet product suite to ensure we are addressing the broadest market possible, and continuously assessing our current platforms and improving them to meet the increasing demands of the market. As a Senior Product Manager for BI, you will strive to create continuous improvement on our existing product lines, creating differentiation that will provide our sales teams with compelling value propositions to share with our customers. You will be accountable for the P&L of the portfolio, and for the effective service delivery and support of the product line. You get to work on latest connectivity technology such as 5G and next generation GPON. Additionally, you will maintain the pulse of the market both directly with customers and through our sales and technical sales teams and drive the Service Development group to ensure we are able to adapt our service offerings to the latest market needs. You will do so with a clear eye to customer experience, ensuring that our existing and future customers are likely to recommend TELUS to future customers.

 

Here's how

 

  • Establish industry benchmarks for each step in the product experience (Sales Cycle, Contract Cycle, Fulfillment, Assurance and Billing) to ensure our customer experience is exceeding expectations
  • Build, own and execute product, technology, services and operational roadmap
  • Responsible and accountable for the end to end development and marketing strategy campaign (market trial, launch), including the allocation of the budget and development of the ROI and KPIs
  • Understand the competitive landscape of broadband internet, anticipate competitive actions and response, and successfully develop plans to address
  • Support our stakeholder teams onboard customers (from sales to implementation) through the introduction phase on new product development, leveraging customer and channel interactions to validate product definition and process
  • Ensure that marketing collateral and sales training is optimized to successfully position new capabilities to our customers
  • Engage third-party industry experts to ensure alignment of product strategy to global trends
  • Provide product, process and market-positioning training to stakeholder teams to ensure expertise is quickly grown across TELUS
  • Developing strategic, operational, financial and value chain enablement plans 
  • Forecasting revenues and units by product and customer segments
  • Developing industry-leading product, pricing, retention and revenue strategies
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and financial acumen skills; business analysis, analytics and process engineering
  • Strong and thorough knowledge of marketing principles and the relationships between pricing, share, value propositions, and demand drivers

 

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

 

  • Knowledge of wireline products and services such as internet, SD WAN, VoIP, managed services
  • Demonstrate influence and strategy skills; planning, business case; business requirements, product management, roadmap, product development 
  • Proven ability to make strategic recommendations on gap closure initiatives, secure alignment and budget
  • Confidently present ideas to senior leaders (VP and above)
  • Proven risk management and conflict resolution skills
  • Program management expertise
     

Great-to-haves

 

  • University Degree (Required) 7-10 years of equivalent experience
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred) or 10+ years of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in product management, service development or technical sales
  • Progressive experience in marketing and business management positions: Telecom/industry experience and exposure to a variety of marketing roles would be beneficial
