The TELUS Sustainability and Environment Team leads TELUS’ environmental compliance responsibilities as well as its globally-leading sustainability strategy development and execution - a critical pillar in bringing TELUS’ social purpose to life. Included in this leadership is responsibility for our award-winning annual ESG and Sustainability Report and the accompanying ESG data sheet. Additionally, we build and maintain relationships and action plans with various ESG rating agencies to ensure TELUS’ progress and results on many ESG criteria are shared and validated so that our many stakeholders understand our leading ESG performance. These ratings, and the data and stories that support them, also enable improved sales opportunities for TELUS, as well as enhanced supplier, investor, government, team member and customer relations. We are seeking an individual with a collaborative mindset and approach, and a track record of successfully leading and managing sustainability reporting for a global, large, publicly traded organization with an in-depth knowledge of regulatory and voluntary standards and frameworks for climate-related and other non-financial disclosure. Experience in multi-stakeholder and cross functional leadership as well as environmental subject matter expertise combined with a passion for caring for our planet is essential.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we will accomplish together:

As a Senior Program Manager - Sustainability, you will be part of a high profile portfolio reporting to the Director, Sustainability & Environment.

Through your collaborative and programmatic approach you will: lead TELUS’ annual sustainability reporting and disclosure program engaging with many internal and external partners; identify risks and gaps and relevant action plans to enhance TELUS’ sustainability approach and governance; build and strengthen relationships with third party ESG rating agencies to inform continuous improvement; lead the development of responses to ESG surveys, questionnaires, RFPs, investor and other external requests; support internal needs for ESG and sustainability expertise; improve processes for ESG and sustainability data collection and analysis; and introduce new and innovative ideas, solve problems, and leverage your networking and influence skills to execute on projects and programs.

You will bring expertise on the evolving climate-related and other non-financial disclosure voluntary and regulatory framework landscape to help develop and lead action plans and roadmaps to ensure TELUS’ sustainability leadership, as well as advanced communication skills to inform recommendations for sustainability and ESG strategies to senior leadership. French language skills are very valuable for this role.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and are looking to contribute to a highly engaged team culture where there are ongoing opportunities to learn, then we’d love to hear from you!
