We are searching for a talented candidate to become our team’s Sr. Project Manager, Data Engineering. Reporting to the Director – Enterprise Data Engineering, you will lead and deliver data driven technology projects in collaboration with the Data Engineering Platforms team. Our team is responsible for enabling, enriching and democratizing data for TELUS in order to support many business units across the organization drive revenue, realize cost savings & efficiencies and to improve the customer experience via the following major workstreams:
 

  • Master Data Management
  • Single view of the Customer and Data Unification with adjacent Business Units
  • Revenue Generating Unit Reporting
  • Usage and Revenue Reporting
  • Consumer and Business Customer & Prospect 360
  • FinOps

 

We work with internal and external partners to develop new data products and services and provide the highest tier of support for our enterprise grade data pipelines to GCP for TELUS. We continuously strive to improve the reliability of our data and the overall GCP platform through technology innovations and the latest SRE best practices.

What you'll do

 

  • Develop and implement roadmaps that provide a consolidated view including updates, delivery plans, compiling financial forecasts, tracking actuals, managing purchases, tracking material
  • Work closely with technical teams on the end to end delivery of customer facing features and content
  • Managing the overall portfolio budget (CAPEX & OPEX) by monitoring expenditures to ensure costs stay within the approved budgeted amount
  • Gathering and analyzing financial data to identify areas for improvement and to keep projects on budget and on time
  • Manage infrastructure deployment and software development projects
  • Partner with internal and external teams to deliver on strategic initiatives
  • Balance day to day workload with the demands of a fast-paced Agile delivery team
  • Facilitate and maintain relationships between organization and vendors/partners
  • Contribute to the establishment of a common set of practices, tools and templates for portfolio, program, and project-level management and ensure standards are being followed

 

 

What you bring

 

  • 3-5 years of technical project management experience delivering IT Projects on Time, on Budget and with Quality
  • Familiarity with Scrum, SAFe agile frameworks to manage product delivery
  • Experience working with product owners to identify skill-sets and ensure backlog completeness including estimates
  • Understanding of Big Data, Data Architecture, Informatica ETL tools and Google Cloud Platform products and services
  • Skilled in using JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite, Fieldglass and SAP
  • Manage project schedules, partners & vendors identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders
  • Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external teams through leadership, embracing diversity and introducing new ideas
  • Skillful in problem-solving and resolving issues creatively and always through a customer lens
  • Innovative and out of the box thinking - you are curious and never stop learning
  • Ability to manage key deliverables, project status reporting, excellent communication and presentation skills as part of an extended project team and committed to working with engineers, architects and product managers
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, both complex technical concepts and end to end business processes
  • Flexible in managing ambiguity, uncertainty and changing priorities
  •  Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Business or other technical disciplines

 
Great-to-haves

 

  •  PMP, Agile, CSM certifications
  •  Project Management experience in software automation, cloud migrations, hardware deployments & data analytics

 

 

Salary Range:  $90,000-$134,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
