The latest emerging open interfaces and virtualizes RAN (Radio Access Network) technology, brings with it an exciting opportunity for TELUS to build a new open and cloud-based RAN network. We are embracing disruption, reimagining network services capabilities, and driving innovation to accelerate new Open RAN technology adoption.


As a Senior Project Manager within our RAN2Cloud team, you will be directly responsible for defining and managing a number of programs that will help TELUS deliver the most advanced Open RAN technologies in support of TELUS wireless network evolution. You will be responsible for partnering with internal technical teams, key stakeholders and external vendors to execute on initiatives with high technical complexity and business impact. 


Our wireless industry and technologies are constantly changing. One key towards success involves being able to adapt and thrive in an environment of change – on any given day, you could be developing a business case, tracking delivery on multiple Open RAN projects, driving a change management plan for an organizational initiative. When challenges arise, you will seek ways to overcome these by collaboratively working towards finding creative solutions. With your leadership and expertise, improvements to our project management methodology will be integrated into our “business-as-usual” cycle. 

What you’ll do   


  • Driving project delivery: Provide leadership and support to help define project scope and objectives, develop schedules to ensure timely completion of key deliverables, and report on project milestones 
  • Delivering portfolio roadmaps: Support the development and oversight of the integrated portfolio roadmap between programs and projects
  • Fostering best-in-class project methodologies: Lead or support program discovery and development of requirements, business cases, statements of work, program or project charters, governance structures or other cross-functional management tools; and develop toolkits to establish standardized best practices 
  • Improving processes: Foster a continuous improvement mindset while continually looking for opportunities to increase the ROI of programs and processes 
  • Leading change management initiatives: Resolve issues and conflicts arising from competing priorities and develop change management plans to gain buy-in across functional teams
  • Implementing best practices: Coach and mentor leaders and subject matter experts in the latest project / program management methodologies  
  • Ensuring timely communications: Prepare executive-level summary reports to support decision-making and drive operational effectiveness 
  • Managing financial investment: Define capital forecast, follow up PO/SoW (purchase orders/statement of work) with vendors, and report capital spending 



What you bring


  • 8+ years of experience in managing multiple, complex business or transformational projects and leading cross-functional project team members
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline
  • PMP and/or Agile designation or certifications; or equivalent designations 
  • Strong understanding of telecom network technologies, architectures, and business models
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into meaningful communications and recommendations 
  • Experience in applying project management methodologies like Lean Six Sigma, Agile and DevOps; as well as proficiency in project management tools and systems 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with expertise in preparing PowerPoint or Google presentations for executive-level audiences
  • Solid leadership skills, with an ability to work with all levels of the leadership team 
  • Ability to effectively engage stakeholders to establish cross functional alignment for projects
  • Capable of managing high volume workloads while paying close attention to details   
  • Ability to learn quickly from success or failure, good judgement, and high comfort level with change and ambiguity  




  • Knowledge on 4G/5G wireless network, 3GPP and Open RAN Alliance standard 
  • Working experiment in the wireless industry 
  • Bilingual fluency (English and French)
