As a member of the Cyber Security Design and Development team, you are responsible for delivering cyber security products, services, features, and enhancements for our managed security services portfolio. In this role, you work closely with different stakeholders from various teams to assist ongoing projects and develop new security solutions, features, and enhancements. You will be required to lead end-to-end solution development, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and handoff.


What you will do

As a Senior Security Consultant on our Cyber Security Design and Development team, you will leverage your security expertise to create the next wave of advanced security services by designing and implementing managed cybersecurity solutions, products, features, and technologies for our TELUS customers. Your work will deliver security solutions that create value and provide “best of breed” solutions using security best practices and standards. Some of the existing and new service offerings may include Identity and Access Management, NGFW (Palo Alto / Cisco), SASE, Network Access Control, MDR, MFA, and Cloud-based offerings such as AWS/AZURE/GCP.

  • Leverage your prior experience and involvement in cybersecurity service development and process improvement initiatives on your new team as we work to take cyber security products to market
  • Understand what the business needs and then connect the dots to align on what changes are needed from a capability and system perspective to address the needs of the business
  • Demonstrate excellent collaboration skills which you use to both partner with others and obtain alignment on your ideas and recommendations
  • Discover, learn, and operate on a variety of new and existing technologies to implement a variety of security solutions.
  • Support communication of information to the team through multiple channels, including key metrics and KPIs



What you bring


  • Establish experience and knowledge across security, networking, and software concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience developing network and/or security, and/or automation projects
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valued for your creative thinking and ability to implement innovative ideas and solutions
  • Recognized as a technical leader, with an ability to identify and resolve technical roadblocks.
  • Have an innate ability to implement technical use cases through effective requirement gathering and analysis.
  • Confident with interacting, facilitating, and presenting to a wide audience with solid written and verbal communication
  • Familiar with product design and implementation methodologies including software, network, and infrastructure
  • Well versed with Palo Alto, Cisco and Fortinet security technologies 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including operations and other technical support teams.


Great to haves


  • University degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience supporting development processes, including cross-functional collaborative initiatives
  • Certifications such as but not limited to, CISSP, PCNSE, CCNP, CCSK/CCSP, AWS/AZURE/GCP etc.
  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
  • Have knowledge on public cloud providers AWS/AZURE/GCP
