The Chief Product Office (CPO) leads the design and delivery of consumer products and services, including: internet, TV / OTT, smart home automation, and new & emerging solutions.  Our Strategy & Development team is the central group responsible for solving lLeadership’s toughest problems, delivering differentiated value to our customers, and growing our market share across Canada. This includes managing capital investments for all new & emerging products across the business to maximize our ROI. Together, we will continue to grow our national reach.


What you’ll do


In this senior level individual contributor role, you are comfortable with financial planning and analysis.  Leveraging cross-functional engagement, you will support investment decisions for all CPO strategic priorities, working closely with senior leaders and product owners from across the CPO to help evaluate, manage, and execute new opportunities. 


Specifically you will: 

 

  • Partner with product owners to understand product strategy, roadmaps, and capital requirements to model the financials necessary to drive informed investment decisions
  • Build and manage financial models for products, services, and deals, leveraging relevant business casing methodologies
  • Become a trusted resource of financial information and core product metrics including unit economics, customer lifetime value (CLV), etc. 
  • Support business development efforts through analysis and modeling of new business opportunities
  • Elevate the understanding of financial concepts and best practices across the consumer portfolio by working closely with product teams on evolution and optimization initiatives 
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to identify opportunities and trade-offs across programs, and present strategic recommendations to the CPO Leadership Team
     

Other Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and present org-wide financial reports to the CPO Leadership Team
  • Facilitate product financial reporting and partner with FP&A team on monthly and quarterly variance analysis
  • Support broader CPO financial budgeting and forecasting process
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial management processes through the use of dashboards, governance changes, etc.

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Demonstrated experience within a management consulting firm or within a corporate finance/strategy function at a leading technology, media/entertainment or telecommunications firm
  • Recognized for your demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models, identify opportunities and trade-offs, and present strategic recommendations
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a focus on business administration, commerce or relevant field of study
  • Known for your talent in working cross-functionally to bring people together, gain internal buy-in, drive decisions, and deliver results

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Completion of a professional finance or accounting designation (CFA, CPA)  
  • Start-up experience: balancing ad-hoc requests while managing long-term strategic initiatives
  • A passion for media, entertainment, and technology
Salary Range:  $86,000-$130,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%
