We are the Brand Value Propositions team, and our purpose is to maximize overall profitability for TELUS by leveraging the power of three distinct connectivity brands. This involves evolving our portfolio of brands to lead (or in anticipation of) change in the broader connectivity market, with each brand clearly differentiated and delivering meaningful value for its target market.

 

As a team, we develop, evolve, and protect the unique value propositions of each of our brands, inclusive of: competitive positioning, the product portfolio, support model, and target market. You will act as lead for one of our brands, while simultaneously contributing to strategic projects that stretch across products and brands in terms of their impact.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Identify the role your assigned brand plays in helping TELUS Consumer Solutions meet its broader strategic objectives
  • Evolve the brand value proposition, inclusive of: competitive positioning, the product portfolio, support model, and target market
  • Be the expert in the unique needs and behaviours of the target market; identifying innovative opportunities to differentiate & create value for our customers
  • Partner cross-functionally to assess, define strategic intent, and progress net-new differentiated value proposition impacting program(s)
  • For internal projects that would challenge predefined brand value proposition definitions; act as brand steward to enforce alignment or determine how new initiatives will come to life at the brand
  • Collaborate with product owners to design new or tailor existing products to meet the needs of the target market, thereby increasing conversion
  • Unite cross-functional teams around a mid-long term strategy; providing clarity on what each brand represents, unique brand positioning and target customer segments
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders at peer and executive levels with the ability to influence without authority to drive cross-functional alignment

 

 

Qualifications

  • Effective storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate and sell your vision to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • A strategic mindset, with a passion for out-of-the-box thinking and ideation
  • Strong business-ownership mentality, with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and step outside your sandbox when required, coupled with a strong bias for action
  • Comfort with ambiguity, leveraging structured thinking to break down complex problems into actionable work streams
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data sources into actionable insights
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups
  • Are passionate and committed, and can raise the stakes of your role

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • 4-7 years of progressive work experience; preferably in product management, strategy or product marketing functions
  • Industry experience in telecommunications, management consulting, or brand management / CPG
  • Post-secondary degree in business, engineering or similar - MBA is an asset but not required

 

 

Salary Range:  $94,000-$142,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
