We are the Financial Planning & Optimization team for the Chief Information Office (CIO) and our span is wide and critical to TELUS’ success. From AI, Digital, Systems Development, Security and Technology, we do it all. Our team is responsible for strategic business planning, opex and benefits management to help solve complex business challenges and help achieve operational and strategic goals. 


The Senior Strategy Manager for the ESCO (Enterprise Software and Cloud Optimization) Team will lead strategic initiatives and drive program-related workstreams to optimize IT spend across TELUS Enterprise. This role is crucial in developing and implementing new strategies that enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness in our enterprise software and cloud operations.

What you'll do

 

Strategic Planning and Program Management

  • Develop and implement Enterprise Software and Cloud optimization strategies
  • Lead regular progress reporting and present updates to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Leadership Team (LT)
  • Orchestrate the overall execution of team activities, deliverables, and communications
  • Drive strategic decision making at the Senior Leadership level

 

Performance Management and Reporting

  • Drive the development and monitoring of the overall function scorecard and objectives
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business planning and execution
  • Collect and analyze data to support decision-making and track progress
  • Deliver comprehensive performance updates to the Executive Leadership Team

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management

  • Develop and execute a stakeholder engagement and communication plan
  • Establish mechanisms for regular stakeholder feedback and adapt processes accordingly
  • Facilitate smooth transitions to new business planning practices through effective change management strategies
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials and programs for staff

 

Program Execution and Risk Management

  • Define and execute program plans (quality, risk, communication) aligned with stakeholder expectations
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and achievement of outcomes/targets
  • Manage projects with conflicting priorities, issues, risks, dependencies, and changes
  • Implement monitoring tools to track the effectiveness of change initiatives

 

Strategic Negotiations and Relationship Building

  • Lead strategic negotiations with key stakeholders and partners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to support ESCO initiatives
  • Deliver presentations to influence change at different levels

What you bring

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's preferred
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, strategy consulting or program management
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, or similar certifications are considered assets

 

Technical Skills

 

  • Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies, principles, and practices
  • Strong understanding of financial and investment performance metrics
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Deep understanding of business planning processes and best practices

 

Leadership and Communication

 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and facilitation skills at various levels
  • Experience in cross-functional leadership

 

Analytical and Strategic Thinking

 

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Expertise in developing and implementing optimization strategies

Salary Range:  $99,000-$149,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
