The SMB Enablement team supports the SMB Sales and marketing organization, including over 1,000 team members and partners, both in Canada and internationally. SMB sales is focused on acquiring new business and retention of our existing business and management of our sales partners. Enablement drives the team member lifecycle experience including onboarding, learning, growth, development and channel readiness activities to ensure our teams can deliver excellent, consistent results.

 

Role Overview

The Senior Strategy Manager, reporting to the Manager, Marketing, is responsible for leading the development of business-critical programs for the SMB sales channel. This includes creating new initiatives for sales excellence, new hire onboarding, continuous learning, and professional leadership development for the SMB sales team. 
Our goal is to foster continuous growth and evolution among sales teams, enriching their experiences and enhancing engagement for constant growth. Our mission is to deliver and manage programs that elevate team culture and optimize performance.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong strategic background, high emotional intelligence, influential leadership qualities, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a proven ability to successfully execute large-scale ideas from conception to completion within a sales organization.

 

 

Core Responsibilities 

Program Leadership & Sales Strategy

  • Spearhead the transformation of the TELUS Professional Sales Organization (PSO) model within the Small and Medium Business (SMB) channel, leading the design and implementation of scalable programs for sales operations, workflows, and team development.
  • Design and lead SMB enablement programs, including career pathing, hiring, onboarding, and coaching, ensuring alignment with long-term sales strategy and fostering a best-in-class sales and leadership experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop and execute strategic learning and development programs that drive impactful results in sales performance, funnel health, recruitment, and cultural change.

 

Go-to-Market, Communication & Influence

  • Lead programs from inception to go-to-market rollout, acting as a consultant to cross-functional teams for products or programs needing to be stood up for the sales channel in a way that will engage and drive measurable and adaptable results.
  • Support the internal communications strategy for SMB sales and go-to-market initiatives for programs that drive meaningful change, learning, and development within the enablement team.
  • Becoming a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will deliver clear, compelling narratives that connect data and insights to your programs. Your ability to frame decisions, plans of action, and post-program results will guide future thinking and decisions.

What you Bring

Influential Leadership & Collaboration

  • You possess 5-10 years of experience working cross-functionally in enterprise sales organizations. This includes driving strategic decisions, programs, and communications to implement critical change with client-facing sales reps and their leaders.
  • You build strong, collaborative relationships and effectively communicate risks and opportunities to all levels of the sales organization, ensuring optimal, mission-critical outcomes.
  • You are a collaborative team player and influential peer leader who excels at leading by example, fostering cross-functional relationships, and achieving alignment for successful program delivery.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, crafting clear, concise, and compelling visuals and messages for diverse audiences (sales representatives, managers, and executive leadership teams).

  • Resilient Performer: Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a proactive and focused approach, ensuring high-quality task completion.

 

Seasoned Skills & Experience:

  • Strong project management, innovation, and organizational abilities, enabling effective strategic execution and prioritization of competing initiatives.
  • Highly skilled in data analysis, insight extraction, and developing compelling communications and presentations. Proficient with innovative digital technologies.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Management Consulting or Corporate Strategy within a large organization.

Salary Range:  $102,000-$154,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
