In this role you will work with a world class team to accomplish our vision, i.e. lead global open RAN and 5G network architecture innovation to unlock the benefits of emerging technologies for TELUS, Canadians, and the world, by working with large cross-functional teams across TELUS to drive open RAN commercialization and 5G network convergence from strategy formulation and execution. This role will lead and manage network technology strategy and innovative operation model development, technology roadmap alignment, operational budget planning, business case development and collaboration across TELUS teams.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Work collaboratively with peers in RAN2Cloud team and across a cross-functional stakeholder community to develop and introduce new architecture and technology, to refine and update existing technology and network architecture by aligning with products and service roadmaps and evolutions
  • Lead and guide Open RAN and 5G network and convergence strategy development and ensure alignment with network and architecture strategy, RAN DevOps, Core and Service DevOps, Cloud infrastructure for architecture and design across multi-domain areas
  • Gather, compile, and explore complex and multi-dimensional data to facilitate executive discussion and strategic decision-making 
  • Build and present simplified messages to TELUS executives in both technical and business teams
  • Support CAPEX and OPEX budget planning and ensure execution alignment with plan

 

Qualifications

 

 

What you bring

 

  • Excellent leadership, analytical, critical thinking, communication, and presentation skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks from multiple stakeholders and deliver with quality
  • Proven ability to make recommendations on gap closure initiatives, secure alignment and budget cross domains
  • A deep understanding of telecom network, architecture and technologies, frameworks and architecture and KPI metrics
  • Proven experience influencing, building relationships, communicating with internal and external stakeholders and senior management
  • Capable of listening and interpreting stakeholder feedbacks to understand technical milestones and concepts and to be able to translate to business outcomes
  • Recognized as having a strong business and financial acumen. Proven experience in business case development, understanding and interpreting financial models.
  • Proven experience and working knowledge with wireless network lifecycle in RAN, core, transport, IP and /or systems (OSS/BSS)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business or network strategy, engineering and or wireless strategy consulting in telco digital transformation
  • Bachelor degree in business, finance or engineering

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • MBA or Master’s degree in science or engineering 
  • Telecom supplier experience or Hyperscaler experience 
  • International business development experience
