This role sits at the center of strategic enablement for TELUS' Chief Information Office (CIO), bringing to life critical strategic programs focused on improving team member and customer experience by driving a culture of innovation and excellence. We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter & thought leader who will drive a portfolio supporting strategy & enablement activities, including annual planning, strategic priorities development and ad hoc "we've never done this before" initiatives. We are a team of "Swiss army knives" comfortable with rapid change, ambiguity, and building solutions regardless of subject matter.

 

What you’ll do


Strategic Planning and Program Management

 

  • Support annual planning & development of strategic priorities
  • Collaborate closely with our Leadership Team and partner to develop, articulate and align our strategic roadmap in various areas
  • Drive strategic decision making at the Senior Leadership level
  • Work cross-functionally with business partners to curate and host ELT-level business updates, ensuring high quality, facilitating sessions effectively, and driving actions to close

 

Performance Management and Reporting

 

  • Drive annual development and monthly reporting of our CIO business unit scorecard
  • Support development and management of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business planning and execution
  • Collect and analyze data to support decision-making and deliver comprehensive performance updates to the Executive Leadership Team

 

Program Execution, and Relationship Building

 

  • Lead new and exciting projects, many of which could be ad hoc "we've never done this before" initiatives - deep-dive data, drive business analyses/investigations, develop and present insights to senior leaders to support strategic decision making
  • Manage projects with conflicting priorities, issues, risks, dependencies, and changes
  • Work with all levels of leadership to create buy-in, alignment and a sense of urgency
  • Create & deliver executive level presentations to influence change at different levels

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's preferred
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, strategy consulting or program management
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, or similar certifications are considered assets

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Natural ability to transform complicated concepts into simple solutions
  • Balances strategic thinking with tactical action to drive results; able to move seamlessly from strategy to tactics and from working with senior leaders to frontline leaders
  • Resilience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

 

Leadership and Communication

 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and facilitation skills at various levels
  • Experience in cross-functional leadership
  • Compelling storytelling abilities across verbal, written, and visual mediums
  • Comfortable working with all levels of the organization – including senior executives, and in all levels of project implementation from the strategic to the tactical
  • Natural ability to form strong, collaborative working relationships

 

Technical Skills

 

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
  • Deep understanding of business planning processes and best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Suite

 

Great to haves:

 

  • Telecommunication/technology knowledge or experience

 

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

 

 

Salary Range:  $99,000-$149,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
