Description
Our Team and What We'll Accomplish Together
-
Do you get excited about the idea of playing a key role in building TELUS Retail Limited (TRL) into one of the best places for people to work?
-
Do you have an immense passion for attracting top talent, defining what success looks like in our frontline roles, and creating programs that keep our best people engaged and growing?
-
Do you love the challenge of bridging the gap between our Talent Acquisition team and the field- translating frontline needs into talent strategies and ensuring we're bringing the right people on board?
If the answer is "Yes", then this is the role for you!
TELUS Retail Limited (TRL) is our network of corporately owned stores serving customers across Canada with their telecommunications (wireless, wireline), health & security needs. We are a "people first" culture and believe that our team members are the key to our success.
The TRL People and Performance Excellence team is responsible for our strategic workforce transformation and identifying "what good looks like", while enabling our workforce to meet their potential while contributing to overall business outcomes.
We are looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join our team to develop and support talent acquisition and retention programs that attract, onboard, and engage exceptional team members at every stage of the TRL team member lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be the critical liaison between our Talent Acquisition team and the field- ensuring we're acquiring the right talent and building a workplace where people want to stay and grow. You will have accountability for talent acquisition strategy, retention program development, and TRL engagement initiatives. You will be responsible for the following:
-
Define talent profiles and role expectations: Partner with field leadership to identify the "who" and "what" of our frontline roles; clearly articulate competencies, expectations, and success profiles to guide recruitment and onboarding
-
Act as field liaison for Talent Acquisition: Serve as the bridge between our TA team and TRL leadership; translate field needs into recruitment strategies, provide ongoing feedback on candidate quality and hiring effectiveness, and ensure field input shapes our talent acquisition approach
-
Build retention and engagement programs: Leverage data and field feedback to design programs that enhance team member experience, drive engagement, and reduce turnover; own the TRL engagement strategy and ensure it reflects what our teams need to thrive
-
Leverage data and insights to drive recruitment and retention strategy: Analyze recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, quality-of-hire, funnel strength), engagement surveys, retention data, performance metrics, and field feedback to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities; evolve our reporting capabilities to establish metrics that matter; translate insights into actionable program recommendations and provide regular strategic insights to leadership that drive recruitment, retention, and engagement decision-making
-
Manage program execution: Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables; coordinate across teams to ensure smooth implementation, adoption, and reinforcement of talent and engagement initiatives
-
Champion frontline advocacy: Serve as a strong voice representing TRL team interests and needs; ensure field perspectives are embedded in all talent acquisition and retention strategies
- Stay ahead of trends: Monitor best practices in talent acquisition, retention, and employee engagement; identify opportunities to innovate and enhance our approach to building a best-in-class workplace
